Racing and double elimination results up tonight.
Congats to all the winners.
I'd like to know how other competitors went. Are the complete results available anywhere?
In the Juniors Marvin got that wrong because Jack G from newcastle was in second place after the singles. The results of the doubles were pretty much the same.

Marvin put on a killer event and I'm not sure if the new guys realised it but that was actually one of the best nationals ever! We had solid wind for 2 days, we had cold beer, we had live bands and to the best of my knowledge we had serious judging. Not many other Nats have ever had all those things plus the crazy amounts of spectators we had down the beach over the course of the event, so I would like to say a big thanks to Marvin and everyone else who made it happen, including the riders!
As far as the competition went it was very close in every division! The things I remember most however are as follows;
1. Keahi absolutely killing it with a style and consistency that was unmatched.
2. Ewan doing about a million heats to earn himself a 1st and a 2nd.
3. Chrissy also doing a ton of heats to make her way up to 2nd and also doing a really nice s-bend to blind along the way.
4. Marine riding with a style and ease that ultimately got her the title and nealry getting a sick blind judge at the end of the final with her kite lower than most of the men! haha.
5. Declan riding really solid most of the time with a style that gets my approval.
6. Kaos doing some random tricks that I don't think anyone else even does haha, he's just so strong he can make whatever he likes haha.
7. Scott doing his trademark crowmobes here and there.
8. Sam doing some nice front to blinds in the womens in her first comp ever and doing them better than some men.
9. Jack G riding with a busted meniscus and somehow still getting 3rd haha, also doing some sick stuff on the rails and taking it out!
10. Benny winding just getting unlucky, but riding with the most style and his kite the lowest out of anyone. It was really good to see him back again because Benny is a mad cat.
11. Seeing Dan "the gym man" Manderson going out lit and taking about half the comp site to come back down from some powered tricks haha. It was good to see Dan back again and riding well.
12. Telling Jake he wouldn't bust his board on the rail, then jake busted his board haha.
13. Marvin stopping the disco and telling everyone not to shake the tent, then turning the music back on and seeing Cams head pop out above everyone as he proceeded to climb the tent pole! hahaha.
14. Me going kiting after the single and thinking I was glad I wasn't in it haha.
Looks like a successful comp !!
Good onya Marvin and crew and happy recovery. I'm sorry I missed all the fun.
Hi from all the kiters (all 2 of us) in Jvaskyla in sunny Finland where bikini clad girls are sunbaking on blankets in 15C right next to a frozen slushy lake!!!
Rails results had a large mistake....Ben Winding actually finished second!
1st- Jack Gearing
2nd - Ben Winding
3dr - Chris Wardell
4th - Jake Horton
Ben's name was accidentally omitted and it was only just picked up this evening when going thru the paperwork! Big apologise to both Ben and Jake!
Race results....
1st- Johnno Keys
2nd- Marvin Baumeister
3rd- Damien Gough
I will post full freestyle results down to 9th position in a bit!
Big props to Marv and his crew (including Brendon for driving his ski towing dudes when there was no wind), massive effort all round delivering a sick event.
Thanks to Matty DeNittas, Cam Prest and Alex-Lewis for a tireless effort judging in the blazing sun and wind along with our timer lads, Johan (I think) and little Liam Tarr on the last day busting out the stopwatch and bouncing up and down the tower like the energiser bunny!
The overall freestyle format ran for the best part smoothly and efficiently thanks mainly to the professionalism of all the riders, ensuring you were ready to go with only a short amount of time in between heats, so thank you to all the riders for making our jobs easier!
cheers,
Chris Wardell
I reckon next time we set up a rail and a kicker in the zone and get a legit comp happening!. I'm claiming we go back to priority buoy as well! All this combined could be epic. Yes, epic.
Thanks to everyone that was involved and I had a great time at the nationals this year. Was good to see such a good turnout of riders and spectators and it was good to see such a high level of riding in all divisions.
Can't wait for next year.
Keahi
ye was a sweet event, thanks to all the organisers and sponsors, cant wait for next one, hopefully its in another sick location!
the ABC story broad casted over weekend.
