Hi Guys,

I'm just starting to try & do jumps. But my lower abs are getting such a massive workout, after only 20mins I'm knackered.

Is this normal or am I just grotesquely unfit?

get a decent harness...
its the bar pushing into your gut that makes them hurt unless your technique involves bending your body back in some grotesque shape...

Doctor says the remedy is: take two spoonfuls of concrete and harden the f**k up, sunshine.

Kidding! - now being helpful i would suggest might want to look into getting a seat harness - if it's really a problem. Apparently this can make it easier. But in general yeah, it will hurt..I think this might be normal.

Now, I'm only a Newbie to Kitesurfing and know stuff all about it at the moment. In fact I can hardly get up on the board at the mo, But I am a Personal Trainer and have been in the fitness industry for years. Prob longer than most of you youngsters have been kiting. LOL

AND No amount of "Sit-Ups" will harden your ABS, Sit-ups are ONLY good for your EGO!!!!

You need to be doing "CRUNCHES" and variations of them. Your Abdominals can be trained every day, as they are the quickest recovering muscle in the body. BTW the abdominals are 1 muscle NOT upper Or lower abdominals as most people would think. It's just that when you work your abs you actually recruit muscle fibres at different stages of an exercise, which gives you the impression you are working upper or lower.

Anyway the moral of this story is: If you are getting sore abs, "GO WITH IT" that just means that you are working muscles you haven't worked before.

Your body will adjust and you'll have great looking abs as a result. That is of course if you don't have a layer of FAT covering them. HaHa!

bellzz u got a lil girly wirly gut.. but dude just kite through it and as they all hav said.. harden the f*ck up! haha.. mine usd 2 get like that 2 and its because you use alot of weird muscles kiting that you probably didnt even know existed!! as he said kitecrzy if u read his message.. LOWER abs not upper abs/ rib cage! a harness wont make much difference.. and a seat slows down ur learning and stops you from being able to learn alot of tricks ay.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the great answers
It seems I need to do some hardening the f#$@ up. I will try that.
I've tried the 2 spoon fulls of concrete to achieve this, but now luck.
Does anyone know if I can get the concrete in capsule form though, as it has been scratching my throat a bit.

I've got a seat harness, so might try an waist one.

Ohh & I think I will start my regime of 140 ab crunches 3x times a day, after I fill my self with beer over Xmas

Beer will numb the pain of the abs...but cause you to react too late to prevent the kiteloop that crushes your kidneys.

I reckon' you may just have to get a little harder on yourself as mentioned, and life in general will be a lot easier. Especially kiting.

Did you know that the average Australian puts on a KG over Christmas and then takes a year to lose it?. If you don't lose it...guess what happens next year.

Merry Fat Arsed, Christmas to all the pagans out there.

Remember, if you get through Christmas without feeling like you are carrying a couple of dog rolls under each arm, then you don't deserve your kidneys in the first place!

Does it count if the kilo you put on is comprised of salt water? I got rinsed yesterday and I reckon I'm up for another rinsing tomorrow....Is this what is meant by retaining water?

I do lots of crunchies, leg lifts, sit ups, etc. 5+x a week and I still get sore abs after a good session of jumping if there hasn't been decent wind for a couple of weeks (and that is/was with a seat harness, now back on a waist). Jumping puts your abs to the test. They're flexed the whole time you're up there. Enjoy...

Do around 100 sit-ups (or crunches) each night- Whichever floats your boat.

I would suggest that moving to a waist harness (from a girls perspective) actually increases your use of your abs! Just keep battling through it and she'll be jake.

MY TURN

I do Legovers, Bentovers, Doggy Style and Gomer Pile

all on my own, and if I'm lucky my wife lets me join in

But I guess this has nothing to do with ABS and kiting

Unless, Aha! I might be Crunching and biting

I do at least 150 of these a night

I guess I'm a legend in my own right!

So the story goes like this you "Pup"

Heed what we're all saying and " HARDEN THE F&*K UP"
