I just went out at Caloundra Bar on my 10m C4.

Was a bit ballistic but got some nice boosts in before i got sick of fighting the kite. Wish I had a 7m!!

Had a blast on Main Beach Nth Straddie yesterday on my 9m before it really kicked in. Took one look at the washing machine it was today and didn't even bother with my 7m. Maybe tomorrow.

Yesterday the goldy was awesome until it got too southerly and the high rises made the wind all yucky. Not cool when the wind is turbulent and slightly offshore!

I had a blast over at Golden Beach from 10:30 till 12:00. Couldn't see anyone over on the bar at that time otherwise I would have sailed over. I hate being the only one there just incase something goes wrong. Tomorow should be even better hey, cheers Marcus

Yep there's a cyclone out there! Expected to head slowly south-west, and I head up to the Goldcoast tomorrow with the family for 10 days. I have managed to sneak my kiteboarding gear in amongst all the SLSA gear, so looking for a fun week!

I'm no met man, but as part of my job, I have to study the weather carefully and looking at the WX maps, I would think that a large part of QLD is going to get clobbered by increasing Sth Easterlies with large swells. The air moves clockwise around a low and it would have to move a long way to the West to create northerlies.

Did I miss something Dave? You said "I just went out at Caloundra Bar on my 10m C4." So you went out but I sence in your comment that I shouldn't have because it wasn't safe? If I'm not mistaken Golden Beach on an outgoing tide in 30 Knot SE is less power (wind in the same direction as the tide)therefore much safer to kite in? No prob's keeping upwind btw because of the wind speed. I'm just asking because I may have missed something that I need to know with kitesurfing that I am not aware of, safety speaking that is. I checked the wind speed at Golden Beach just before I riged up and it was showing between 20-25knots, maybe in the gusts I'm guessing 30+. I was useing a 10m Cab 09 switchblade and at times I need to power it up. Cheers Marcus

Golden Beach on an outgoing tide in 30 Knot SE??

hmmmm
There was a reason noone went out today. Gusts were 10 knot over wind speed and conditions weren't safe

Even superloop Evan said no...

I think there's a moral there.

How come you were messing around inside the bar? There were such clean, gentle waves on the open beaches.....
