Just like to say thanks to old mate asian bloke with the black 12m kite for trying to jump and then loop your kite in VERY close proximity at botany this arvy. The leading edge pounded me in the head and the bridle wrapped around my neck and felt like it was gonna tear my head off. Luckily noone was hurt and I got away with a hole in my tongue and a few scuff marks on my neck....then I broke my board later...what a **** day! haha

Guys sending their kites through weddings, people looping into other people, kiters telling swimmers to piss off, other spraying swimmers.

Tis the season to be a douche bag from the sounds of it.

does anyone know this doushebag asian with the black kite?

Believe me bro I had someone take me out and give me line burns on my shoulder and ear....then 2 weeks later i saw them stack BIG and rip their kite from the leading edge to trailing edge.. it was a new kite and a rite off for sure.. moral of the story....

Lucky you, it could have been way worse...
I have to ask about the board though, it is a hell of a snap?

And snapped the opposite what to what you'd expect.

the strange thing is he is actually a nice bloke, Im going to assume he didn't notice until I chat to him again because he didn't seem like the kind of person to just nail someone and then kite away. I've seen him rescue people's boards, loan his kites to people, etc. so obviously just a mistake.

The board didn't snap during the kiteloop to the head incident. I just did a big jump a few hours later and then when I landed it broke. Pretty strange really, must have been faulty. Its not like nobile to produce a faulty board though, they are very noble boards usually. If you have any spare 666's laying around in the factory I will pimp nobile forever if you replace it

p.s. The new NHP is very nice anyways

I used to have a nobile 666 just like yours - and I snapped it in pretty much the same place as you did - from landing hard on flat water. 77Kgs - and riding away from the landings

Now have an Aboard - much stronger

I broke my Nobile NBL 09 board a few months ago. It was already 10 month old but i brought it back to the shop to ask for warranty. ( happened during normal riding/jumping)
The just made some photos to send to Nobile and after a week they replaced it.

They told me that Nobile's policy is to replace all broken boards if you don't broke them on rocks, reefs,.... but if it happens during riding.
How old is the board and how did you broke it?

Definitively worth a try

Its a 2007

I basically crashed into the water and then dragged the nose for 10 or so metres, when I went to get going again it was fully snapped. It's never touched a rock, not a scratch on it

Was the black kite an Epic, and did he have a green Nobile board like yours... was he wearing a hat?

I broke my 2008 Nobile 555 last season landing a boost - on water. Nobile replaced the board with an 2010 555 after my retailer forwarded the pictures to them (Although this did take a while), and I am very happy with it. I have to say I am very impressed with their willingness to replace warranty boards that have failed during normal use - this is how all companies should operate - Good on you Shinny.

Although it does seem that their boards may not be as strong as some others, it will not put me off buying them as long as they keep their warranty replacement policy. I think their boards are great and I will continue to buy them.

I agree..... Cardboards have some of the best after sales customer service I have ever come across.

Replacement sent out within 2 weeks ( this was a few years ago but I assume their policy has not changed )

So it wasn't the Asian guy it was another mystery black kite. Apologies, I thought there was only one black kite out but apparently there was a wainman and a slingy.
