I am currently almost a 1/3 of the way through a 9 month trip traveling through 11 different countries kiting and surfing where ever I can. I love seeing new places, meeting new people and exploring. So far I have had many firsts, like kiting in 9 degree water in the Puget sound, kiting in the Gulf of Mexico, and now the Atlantic. But what I love most about traveling is the serendipitous moments when something cool happens. From the kindness of total strangers my wife met a woman who attended one of her art workshops and gifted us the use of her house on a private island eco sanctuary. We decided to take up her offer. We arrived to good wind, tiny waves and a 4 mile stretch of empty beach. (I have been kiting solo in most places I have been). I did not see anyone in the water the whole time we were there, and talking to one of the locals who has a sup rental said he had never seen a kiter on the island before. The surf came up the last day due to a tropical cyclone Ana off the coast but I forgot to charge the Gopro :( duh.....(this is the first time I have had one so still learning the ropes). The wind pumped the whole time we were there, and as much as I loved it, it would have been great to share the stoke with someone. So I am sharing it with you. This is not a video about the debates of strapped or strapless, big or small waves, flat water vrs ocean or whatever. It's just about exploring and having fun. It's my first clip so nothing too fancy here. I hope to improve on the quality as I get better with capturing images and editing.
Hope you all in Oz are doing well ;)

Hey Slash,
Got sponsored to take this board for a world cruise. The cube is still my favorite small wave board of all time. Plus the cube is slightly heavier, and with three kites, 2 bars, wetsuit etc in the bag, I have had to be really careful on keeping my weight in check. When I get back in Nov she will be waiting for me....although she might spank me for neglecting her ;) I like the fact that the Cube is still brand new, I have a back up cube should one ever break. Magic board....

PS That momma alligator had about a dozen little gators about a foot and a half long just on the other side of the fairway. She was keeping a pretty close eye on them. Imagine playing golf where every water hole had these critters. Puts a new meaning on the drop rules! Apparently there is a 13 footer on the next hole, but I was not that keen on trying to hunt it down for a camera shot

Hey Ray, I leave FLorida in two days, then head to England and Ireland for 6 weeks, then on to France. Spain after that, then Portugal, then back to Spain. Germany and Sweden next, then the Netherlands, followed by Italy, After all that in Oct head back to Mexico for a month, and back in Oz in Nov for the summer kite season. By then I will be really looking forward to coming home. I really love Jervis Bay. But I also don't mind seeing the world. Oh, and I am never kited out :)
