That was pushing a lot of water...
He didn't look too happy either.
Any other pics?

Nothing yet. Just that update from Fisheries that I posted above as an edit.

That's so sad. Poor bugger. He was obviously injured or dying.

poor bugger was up there Sat afternoon doing the rounds in the bay before washing up, came in to die, feds pulled everybody out the water which meant the break south was empty. Has a tracker so will be interesting to see where its been to/from,

old news by gero standards.....

How lucky they were do be that close to a white pointer in SAFETY.
If it is tagged, I hope the information from it can be used to understand white pointers and possibly, but obviously any limited potential for protection methods.
Now, how much science was there when they hooked tiger sharks and chucked them overboard off Perth last summer?
Wouldnt' taxpayers be happier for their money, about $6 million, for the 3yr shark cull to be spent instead on great white, tiger and bull shark research, about half a dozen shark barriers at the most crowded beaches from Albany to Gero ,and some observers on Margaret River beaches during the peak holiday season?

Maybe he wanted the gun to help put the big fish out of its clearly moribund state.

People are very quick to judge!

Maybe the fish departed early due to sepsis, originating at the tag site?

Now that would be ironic.

Probably injured by the drum lines and will now slowly painfully die. Well done WA.

The drum lines came out 3 months ago so I doubt it. How are the NSW shark nets and drum lines going?

My understanding is that more often than not, it's the sick or injured GWS which attacks a human. They are delusional and in need of an easy kill. Good thing he's now out of the water I suppose.

11am: ABC just reported the Fisheries autopsy found a sealiion stuck in its throat, and the thrashing could have been to dislodge it. But being in such shallow water may have caused damage to the shark's internal organs. It was 4m and tagged on South Australia in January. Nothing said about what the acoustic tag recorded in the past six months. Guess we'll get that later.

Aahh, shame there were no shark huggers on the scene. They could have given him the heimlich maneuver

Doubt it's the drum lines fault, Qld has them and I've never seen a shark floundering on the beach like that . Dave I've also never seen a shark close to the beach so the drum lines must be working .

Aren't we all forgetting the friendly and cheeky sea lion who was happily minding her business before being attacked and killed?
