We are ON for the comp this Sunday.
The swell forecast is small but the winds will be favourable. We will assess the conditions on Sunday morning for the final call on format - 1 day event, or do 1st rounds sunday and finals the next weekend.
Meet at Brighton beach, most likely 200 m south of the main ramp, for an 11 am briefing and the comp will start ASAP after that.
It's important you make the briefing for safety reasons and so you understand the comp format and run sheet - it will give you the best chance of enjoying the day.
All help will be gratefully appreciated with setup as usual from 10am.
Don’t forget to pre-register on the WAKSA website with your Name and Division before midday on Saturday.
We don't take entries on the beach! Kite Addiction have sponsored this event for 5 years.
This year they have given us 120 prizes so everyone is going to be a winner.
Smallish swell but good wind will get this comp kicking off tomorrow. get your regos in and head on down!
Is it too late to register? It says please register by yesterday :(
Hi Andy,
I would still head down and talk to the lads. Due to the comp stretching over 2 weekends there is another round 1 being held next week for the crew who are working or travelling from the regional areas.
Well looks like the wind is going to be there as it is already 15 knts or so,
now we just need the swell to fill in a bit,
and it has increased down south already so that is a positive sign ! (with a nice swell period as well)
so there will be something to hit !

1m swell it's flat as a tack!
Forecast is looking ****house for today's event - fingers crossed it's wrong and we get a little wind..........it's flat as a tack down there at the moment
This whole surf kiting thing is getting embarassing. Just stay out of the way when I'm boosting guys.

Most guys get over the boosting thing in their first or second season Wishy, surely you've progressed from that by now.

... then after a while you get over waves... then you get over twin tip... then after that you might just realise your a tweaked out guy riding around with shoes on.

... then you might decide to ride some kind of mutant surf board thing from perth to north-west cape to raise money for a good cause!in other words, it's all good as long as you're getting wet (and possibly air as well haha)!!!
Kite Addiction and WAKSA State Wave Titles Preliminary notice – Sunday start or standby
Fingers crossed we will be able to finish the comp this weekend. About 18 heats remain - Sunday is looking good at this stage. If the forecast changes for the worst we will go on standby to a later date, we will advise in due course. We will make a final call based on the forecast on Friday.
If the event goes ahead, the safety & competitor briefing and outline of the day's event will be at Brighton Beach on Sunday morning at 11.00am with the first heats commencing ASAP after that.
We expect to wrap up the competition by about 6pm. Presentations will be at the Local Shack over a beer from about 7 which also happens to be the after party venue for Redkite!!
