Kitesurfing paraglider??? Egads. Who was the idiot in the ad agency who put this one through? And the Photoshopping. Check out the angle of the sail... Sigh.

Too bad there is no category to select called "Idiots"

Maybe LandRover is snubbing us kiters; suggesting there ain't no-one amongst us that cuts as fine a silhouette as this photoshop dude or who can mow the lawn as well as he does it......sheet back to the shrink for me

Yeah right.... Just don't change the tyres with something with a slightly different rolling diameter or the transmission will overheat and the body control module (BCM) will be totally confused and it will shut the vehicle down.

I think I'd rather kitesurf with a paraglider

Not sure I would call 4wd-ing a sport, but hey, let's change it to 4 of the gayest sports on the planet then.....

Why not?........ Range Rover do, and it's a bigger POS than the Discovery 4.

Any manufacturer that asks over 2K for an exterior mirror is just taking the piss!!!

A few years ago in Vic. the Land rover distributors decided to ditch all dealerships outside of Melbourne and Geelong.
They somehow believe that all TRUE 4WDer's live in Toorak.

So this ad makes perfect sense.

Paul1, sorry to let you down but your wrong on both counts, I fix these (and lots of other makes) for the dealers, the trade and retail customers aswell.

At the end of the day the prices don't bother me (such as $1300 for an ignition key and $800 for front pads and rotors etc etc etc) as these costs are passed on to the owners of the vehicles. I will always try to obtain cheaper aftermarket parts (so long as quality does not suffer) but it's not always possible for one reason or another.

Just trying to let people know that if you are thinking of purchasing this type of vehicle that nothing on these vehicles are cheap or simple and straight forward to repair.

You can't even tow a trailer with LED lights (no problem with globes) with these vehicles, for reasons I won't go into here, without the addition of specialist electrical equipment to allow correct operation of the LED trailer lights.

Do you own one?

Have a disco 3, never had a single issue and tow a trailer with LED lights with no issues at all. Mates have them too with no issues, just wondered why you were so upset with them.

Googled the LED issue and guess the previous owner made the easy fix already.

Discovery 3's need there auto transmission's serviced at around the 100,000 km mark or you may find a shudder transmitting through the vehicle. The transmission is meant to be sealed for life but get it serviced anyway.

Looks like a stock photo and some photoshopping to make an advertising image.

The image comes from a royalty free web site. Pity that the agency are too cheap and too slack to pay a photographer and a kiteboarder for a proper shot.

The only people who will notice are paragliders and kiteboarders.
