I would say I get about 450-500kms from the normal tank which is about $70-90 to fill depending on diesel price.

wowa that's some terrible economy.

I'm rocking 8 to 9l /100

800km per tank. $70

Up until recently had a Peugeot 308 (RIP or rebirthed) and routinely got 5.5l/100km on the highway, so a trip to Rosie ~135km would cost a mere $8 so made the trip all the more worthwhile

suby on the other hand 8-9 if I am lucky

Yeah, But can you fit your wife and 3 kids all the crazy gear they carry, canvas tent and all associated camping gear, blow up beds, cooker, table chairs, half a dozen kites, kiteboards, 2 kite buggies, boogie boards, chilli bins, food and water for camping off grid for 5 days?

Can you even go offroad?

On my last trip to Maui, I had my sons with me coming back from Kite Beach, and one of them spots this used car yard. He liked this truck, but I pointed out to him that we couldn't check it in, so forget it!! Back in Australia, he bought a Triton.

... haha oh how right you are, my brother was in the Port Denison Sprint with his red Commodore that he tweaked and tuned which gave him another 100 horses at the wheels, then found out he had too much for his experience, kept leaving rubber everywhere,,,, probably shoulda had a few practice runs as he hit one of the hay bails too,,,,, learned his lesson he said and love it.

Cheers,

Robbie

ps brother is taller than me too, learnt to slouch and look gangster when driving the green one!!!
