I saw a guy at Caloundra on Sunday with a board that has a clear coated timber finish on top of the board. It looked really striking. Does anyone have any suggestions, of what board it may have been?

I saw a crazyfly allrounder on the net but I dont think this was it. Any suggestions?

I don't know how to answer this without coming into problems with the owners of the site.

I own a custom kiteboard business in New Zealand and we specialize in a type of finish on our boards.

Maybe look us up, maybe ask around.

Cheers

did it look like one of these, seen these in my local shop

or twintips
although you cant really see the timber in the pics that well, I am sure the graphics are opaque and you can see the wood grain and in some places there is no graphic and the timer is also seen ,ore clearly.

I can tell you about the Wave Doctor since I have one.

It is the smoothest ride you'll find, cuts through chop like no other I've ridden. Perhaps I am not the most expert on wave boards but I can tell you I love how it carves and how smooth it feels the whole time you're on the board.

Mine came with underground pads and it sticks to your feet like glue. It looks great and Fritz does an awesome job on the graphics as well.

My 3c

DK that board looks sweet........What's the main timber?

Has there been any experimentation with heartwood Kauri??

I noted its called a Cutlass what's it designed for??

Hi Weta,

The cutlass is a wave mutant - three fin and less rocker on the tail, TT fins and more rocker on the nose and slight offset to the tail stance. It is a great board in out of control wave conditions as you have a nose to ride on if you need it.

The main timber is Paulownia, from NZ grown trees. I play around with all sorts tho, even done some NICE nose and tail blocks in swamp Kauri and Coconut timber.

We do a huge range of boards and finishes - trying to decide what they want is usually our customers biggest problem.

Cheers

DK
