hi guys,

new to kite-ing, just bought an airrush kite offa guy in the newspaper, only $800, pretty stoked i got it sooo cheap!

he told me i should body drag myself round the beach to get a feel for it.

anyway, my question to you guys who have been kiteing for longer than me is what is the easiest way to bodydrag.

i found i was getting nasty burns on my feet dragging through the sand, and quite often, a face full of sand!!

should i wear booties??

or is it easier to lay on a boogie board maybe to skim over the sand(or would the harness get in the way on a boogieboard)????

or is kite-boogieboarding frowned upon???

would appreciate your help guys

"timmm"... interesting way to spell "troll"

OK, I'll bite.

Only $800 A bargain, I'm sure.

Get lessons from a professional instructor!

You can reduce the friction from the sand by dragging yourself around on a paved surface. Highways and freeways are the best option.

and the money you save can be spent on the ensuing medical and legal expenses.

Say "timmm", say "bargain", say "where's that ambulance going in such a hurry?"

You'll only need knee pads if you're getting your leasons for free from extra curicular activities

the instructor will most likely tell you something along the lines of:

"Body dragging is done with the body in the water."

and,

"Although skudding around on the sand appears to be cool it is generally frowned upon, by the majority of kiteboarders, because of the inherent risks of using a kite within it's power-window whilst on land."

or,

"The act of dragging ones self around on land with a kite is not refered to as body dragging."

they're the kind of things an instructor might say.

Me, on the other hand, I will tell you to "go play in traffic".

Is it just me, or is everyone having a really slow day at work?

BigFatMick I've got one word for you. Coulrophobia

And timmm, don't be an idiot. Get a 2 hour lesson for nothing and it'll save you time, money repairing your own trashed gear and you will get ALL the basic information you NEED to know before you even consider launching your kite.

get lessons mate. they'll teach you how to body drag. its too dangerous trying to teach yourself and your only going to hurt yourself and somone else without lessons. its not a sport which is easily learnt on your own. theres no sense body dragging in the sand as you body drag in the water to retrieve your board or get back to land when you lose your board.

It guess it'd be hard to walk when humping the bouncers leg... any attention given to that age group in those venues would best delivered with a fire hose, truncheon, or a Taser gun. Zap, THUNK! "You're outa here!"

Anyone else for a punk'n
