florida and miami in decmber , jan

Hey mate, I spent a year in ft lauderdale, bout an hour nth of miami. It where I learnt to kite. The beaches there are anal when it comes to kiting because of sheer amount of people... Most spots are a nogo and a majority of the coastline is lined off with rope 50 meters out and it's a swimmer only zone. No craft at all.. You have to remember its a massive boating scene because there is no waves because of the protection from the Bahamas... In saying thAt it's still a great place to kite... If you head south 20 mins there's a beach called danier beach. It's all quite beautiful. You can also head down to Florida keys, really nice kiting In knee deep turquoise but some spots require you to buy insurance before you ride.. It is America after all.. There is kite beaches everywhere but there's rules.... It really pays to ask the locals... They get Pissed really easy if you do the wrong thing because beaches get shut easy and they're yanks. We really do have it good here....if this post sounds a bit negative I apologise, I'ts an awesome Place to kite And visit its just a bit different because of the amount of people especially on the city beaches and especially the time your goin...you should have no Probs with the wind, the trades should have kicked in by then... Have fun mate , I love the joint, miss it all the time....
