Do a search, this topic has been covered to death. I use a Don Joy Armor Extreme. Doesn't get much better. Not cheap though, but worth the piece of mind.

Gall Bros medical do the CTi2 series of braces
www.gallbrosmedical.com.au

I paid $995 for a custom brace, in Nov 2006, and its still going strong.
Very pleased with it, stops swelling and pain, stops over extension pain, increases stability and protects against side loads.

hey yeah i second the CTI knee braces
I have had mine since just after a knee reconstruction and they are great i feel really comfortable doing unhooked tricks only 7 months after my operation, they are more expensive but deffinetly worth it!

CTI braces are like 800 a pop or 1200 for the customs. just go to a physio office and ask where you can get braces from and then go to what ever shop they tell you and order one. i know there is a shop somewhere around Airborne's shop

The one that Charl is refering to might be the one that I got my "moonboot" from when I fractured my fibula last year.
They are at 25 Guthrie St in Osborne Park and have all sorts of braces and stuff.

hey cheers for the help guys.
Ive got a MRI booked for tuesday and that will be able to tell me which ligiment is the one that needs bracing the most hopefully i can get away with something cheaper

i also booked an appiontment with orthotic computer store to get fitted for the cti.. but im not sure because thethe don joy is on ebay for like $550 they look pretty similair ..

$850 is a lot but i would pay it if it meant i could ride without worrying about my knee we going to shark bay for a week next week so i need something asap which sigh too many choices :)

I just got an Ossur Cti OTS brace from Julie. Great service, fast delivery time. And if you need to use the brace for work purposes, it's tax deductible!

I think you only really need a custom if you have gimpy legs, I have a gimpy left leg so the custom was the only option.
I would still recommend trying the cheaper brace first, somehow, see if you can find someone who has one? Or a shop where you can test fit them?
Otherwise the customised CTi version will be a good option, mines still going strong and will easily last this season and beyond from the looks of it.
Feels really strong and supportive under my steamer even though I look pretty deformed and its a slight hassle to get the suit on over the thing.
