it was about 12 knots so i thought i would take photos instead of kiting.. the problem with have a 10 metre as your biggest kites. Your views if they were good or any ideas on how to make them better would be great. im new to the photography game. the camera is a canon eos 400d with a 55-250mm efs lens

hey laurie just a couple of ideas that could make uploading a bit easier. can you incease the amount you can upload at once from 5?
and if you dont select the catagory that you want the files to go in it doesnt tell you until you have already uploaded all the files and you have to re upload them.. unless i was doing something wrong. wow that took a while about an hour and a half :)
thanks for the great photos..
I was on a 15m Speed II from Flysurfer. I also cannot believe that training at 10 knotes is possible but it is. and I´m pretty happy about it :)
PS: sorry again for your first Flysurfer "contact"
see you soon
Mathias
Green top and white shorts is Mathias Wichmann riding a FlyRadical and flying a Flysurfer 15m Speed2.
Another 15m Speed2 day today - even being very onshore and some decent size waves coming through and a heap of current inside I still managed 2 hours out @ Brighton riding my Zone - a 21m Best Nemisis was trying hard with a surfboard but didn't seem to be having as much fun. Unfortunately too many people surfing, body-boarding, swimming, body surfing and fishing all the way up & down the coast to do much wave riding :-( Beautiful day to be out on the water though
no worries mathias like i said on the beach glad it was a doona a leading edge at 10psi would have done more damage :) i was more worried about the camera but thankfully all good. thanks for feedback. ian i know your in photography. just wondering if you have tips or thoughts :)
Nice pics, here’s a tip and not meant to be any criticism because the suggestion is dependent on a few external factors…
moves in a kite shot can be ok or great on the extent of what angle and part of the trick that has been snapped, its also really neat to get the facial expressions.. within most of the images you do seem to have shots with good sharpness, enough I would imagine to get some front shots to see what expression they have, when going for it most people tend to be tense... can make a poor mediocre photo into something that says a little more about the subjects commitment... (Or least makes them look funny)
i like image number 6 the most with the dangle pass and the dude looking at the water.
Oh well that’s my two cents worth... Nice shooting anyhow!
A couple of great shots there. Totally agree, shot 6 is realy interesting, as is the one a couple later, poping out of the water I think.
You will notice the light in some hides faces and other interesting detail, not a great deal you can do from a set position, but maybe think about the angles, you / trick / sun.
check the shots toby has of woodies at www.coreonlinemagazine.com might give you some ideas with angles etc.
hey guys...
it mostly depends on which trick the rider is does. and where he jumps. On Friday h20fly didn´t actually know, what the next trick was. And we always rode downwind from him.. so it´s actually our mistake. the only point of view to get my face on the picture while doing a slim chance had been in the water!!
anyway.. if the rider and cam man communicate before the shooting, there´d be good photos. so if you (h20fly) like to go on, just give me a call.. I´ll be at woodies today.

see you there..

hehe no chance dude i love this new toy. cheers for the link monkey i have a few new spots inmind for the next shoot. does toby use a watercase on his camera?
It´ll be epic if we can use some photos you´ve taken.. As I´ll be here for the next couple of month we´ll take perfect shots ;)
Size of the bar?? It´s a cable and that´s everything I need beneeth 10 knotes.. So I don´t care about the size of the bar.. ;)
You should have a try as well, and if you can train you´ll forget about everything and be happy of not missing a day on the water :D
cheers..
mathias

Particularly the photos of Sebastian and the KiteJam.

I'm going out for a training session on my sail tonight, I was wondering if you could tell me what pig tail attatchments you were using, so I can have perfect sheet length. What moves are you training for? I saw about this really cool move I saw on you tube where this fly sailer swaps his control stick behind his back, and then he swaps it back again, and can you beleive it he swaps the control stick a third time.
Also what diameter lines do you use for training in light winds, I have found standard neon fishing line good in the light winds because it reduces the weight of my gear and has less resistance. Also I have found riding foot hooks reduces the board weight. What thickness fins do you use for training, I have sanded mine down to just over a millimeter thick, at the tips.
Hey Tom..
my little beloved housemate.. have a look in our backyard.. there´s all my gear..
see ya tomorrow
