I agree "definately dont try this at home" probably about an 8 on the stupid scale.

looked fine in those winds, nothing new, kiters have been doing that type of launch and landing for a couple of decades, especially with Revolution kites.

However, doing that in 25 knots, would love to see the results on video.

A Snippet of Rev kite stuff

I remember seeing a video of Lou Wainman doing that about 10 years ago with a two line C kite on Maui...

+1

Also as a rule, if you can luff your kite and get it to land on your head then there isn't enough wind to ride...

nothing wrong with that!!!

another way to do it is throw your bar downwind as hard as possible and the kite just drops out of the sky - easy! For an experianced kiter

I was thinking the same thing, except it was actually a 4 line kite on a pulleybar on 10m lines and he was already standing in his wakeboard when he did it and jumped into the water as it caught the wind. I'm pretty sure it was in Awake, or/and Powerzone 2.

As mentioned how this guy landed his kite isn't that hard. I can remember a time where flying into the beach and just letting go of your kite so it would park itself on the beach was a fun thing to do haha, I don't recommend people should do it though.

SR has to land his kite that way,
When he gets out of the water,,all the locals look the other way and pretend they cant see the new boy in town.

You would think that because your one of those annoying guys who can't self land or launch, closely followed by the noobs who try to help you when you don't need help and make matters worse.

Saw a guy launch his kite like that at augusta. Nearly killed himself and it was offshore. Luckily some other kiters helped him out. When he got in all his lines were tangled up.
