There is a product for iPod out there that is specifically designed for water activities. Think Layne is sponsored by them, or one of the surf-girls are. Googlit...

you can get Waterproof casings for Ipods and waterproof earphones.. i pretty sure u can get another brand of just plain waterproof mp3 player?

Picked up a H2O audio case for my Ipod nano from Anaconda. Not really cheap, but you really get what you pay for...Top quality

There is a brand called "otter box" that does them. I had one for a camera and they are really good. Available in Aus,
