Yes its Cheating - all those Muppets who wear that stuff dont break ribs and their noggin when their board or foil runs them over - not to mention Tards who wear Protective sunnies so they dont go blind later on.
Those wetsuit softies need to HTFU as well !!

But hey - each to their own unless you have no self confidence and actually think people give a rats arze what you look like

Heres a Kook with a 4/3 winter wetsuit, sunnies and a vest but the twit forgot his helmet that day - WTF

I am one of those muppets. Mock away..... keep mocking from the beach when you are too scared to even launch a kite when its blowing 40 + with house sized waves and I'm out there ripping around with my pussy safety gear on having a blast.

Wear a leg rope on a twin tip. It ups the risk factor.

boardshorts and rashy and hardn up

I went surfing last week and it was 10deg C air temp and 18degC water and a chilly wind. I had a 3/2 wetty. The only other guy surfing has boardshorts and a rashy and surfed for about 90mins, and no shivering. He reckons it was refreshing.

"Who's cheating?" suggests there is some sort of competition going on. Who cares about point scoring? Each to their own....just kite and stop worrying about looks and vanity and trying to be hard core.

I'll bet he did stretches before he hit the water too.
What a kook.

Plum, the irony of STW's post, went right over your head (much like his jumps no doubt)

Maybe he'll come along later and 'edumacate' you about that photo, and your 40+ comment...

Haa yeah I did actually see him do a few - when I looked at my reflection in my car window.

That Muppet should have done them at Sesame street, before heading to the beach

I used a helmet once, and only once to attach a go pro.

Stupid decision.

Messed up a semi decent kite loop off Alkimos and almost ripped my head off when I crashed in the water.

I figure you you need something with less surface area. That's kinda counter productive for a cushioning helmet...

If you don't wear a gaypro, then how do else will you prove your self worth to others?

Each to their own.

It's not cheating, it's my choice.

If you're not breaking ribs and busting ear drums, you're not progressing.

Great doco.

I was stressing just much as the cameraman was who was filming on the ground.

When I started foiling swapped hat for helmet.. I joked at the time I would give up 4 day after 30 crash es at 30+ kmph because punch drunk.. I have not been hit by board or foil so to avoid repeat heavy whacks.. Just hitting water nearly always head first.
Tried old footiekit soft padded head gear lower profile less concussion..
Still getting bronco'ed so.
Buying new .. Still feels too risky going with out as not skilled enough.
Learning curve stalled qld winter wind drought but just picked up Peak4 from drsurf so sub10knts should be safer
Cheers

They mean correct helmets bought from retailers not motorbike full face ones.

I saw a doco recently testing the idea that old age limits our understanding of irony... The older you get the less likely you are to pick up on irony.

Be nice to the seniors!
