So, you've got kite parked and going slightly downwind to the max (winds above 18knots).
As soon as I start to pull the kite up towards 12, I put my right foot down a bit (riding to my left)
And as soon as the kite pull starts I make a quick flick of the board out of the water using my front foot to lift off!
Is that right?
I am still "jumping" by jumping out of the water when I feel the pull of the kite. Sometimes I fluke it and I go up high, but many a time I jump like a lame duck!

You should time the pop out of the water for the moment the kite pulls you up. If you don't go high its because you have not time the pop with the send correctly.

Jesus that's a lot to think about, put your left leg in and pull your right leg out and do the doe see doe and turn about etc....

What about....just go across the wind, apply strong heel side pressue to load up the kite, pull down on bar, jump in air

But how will I learn the hokey pokey if I just do that?

Imagine using the back quarter of the board as a springboard you don't jump so much as push off anyhow 'tis all a matter of practice

I have the video and watched it heaps of times. But you know what? I think Sandfoot nailed it for me. Fk thinking about it, just aim board upwind and pull bar in hard as the kite is racing up to 12.

It sound like you are getting a bit confused between boosting and load and pop. To load against the kite you need it low. Keep it low it should not move, or you will be dangling rather than popping. No higher than 10, the lower the more you can load against it. It is also best done unhooked, I'm not sure about learning it hooked in first as the progression video mentions, because being hooked in will have your body in an awkward position and if you learn like this, you then have to unlearn it to progress.

Hey guys! I did it! Well I got a lot more boost.
I watches this video last night and today, popped it even in light 13knot winds.
Oh what a relief at last!!! Yeehaw.

Plums, have not done LnP yet on landboard mate, but now that I have a basic idea, I'll give it a shot after I master it on water first.

Key point is the LnP has to be quick.

juicerider nailed it.
Pulling the bar in as you send the kite is 'boosting' - nothing to do with Load & Pop.
They are 2 x different ways of getting off the water. Combine them - with some nice timing - to get max effect BUT at the end of the day load & pop is simply what it says. Load & release - where timing is essential - trial & error teaches timing.
Practice your load & pop by keeping your kite low & powered the whole time ie no sending your kite.

Thanks Puppet / Juice rider and co,

Thats good info, I didnt know there was a diff between Load and pop and boosting....and the diff is sending the kite makes a boost.?, cool. to me it was either small jump or big jump.

The technique I'm fully stuck on is the aerial transition, I,ve read the info, watched the videos but it just dosn't happen. I sort of need a simple 1.2.3 Explanation as most of the vids and books etc are 12 part dramas.

I fly Naish Park 12 & 9, basic good allround twin tip, but also use a seat harness.

Cheers

Come in with kite parked around 10 and with some pace, let some tension build or board resistance , gradually but with urgency build more resistance ,at this point re direct kite to 12 and release your edge whilst stomping on your back foot and pulling in on bar, you should be off the water, look over your shoulder in the opposite position to spot landing which will bring your body around and slowly re direct kite to land, keeping the kite powered, a quick swipe of the kite through the window will have you riding away with pace, break it down in stages in a decent water depth whilst perfecting, being strong in the core when doing transitions will help, I've some photos which show body and head positions mid air to give you an idea
