hi, just want to start playing around in the surf more. have a 5'11 lying around and want to get some input from the forum on whether it will be suitable for me.

i am around 6ft tall 85kg. got 10 and 8 naish parks. the board is fairly small with quite a bit of rocker so be good to know what size kite to use for each wind range as i am new to this.

Better off taking the ironing board out.

Seriously, at 85kg you'd find that thing a dog just to paddle.

Worth giving it a shot though, nothing to lose!

Agree, looks horrid to ride.

Go pick up a board or two in a kite shop to get a feel for shape and rocker, then try find similar look/feel on a gumtree board or in cashies.
Old is still ok, but that nose and rocker will probably kill the fun for you
Good luck

Why's your wine rack so empty?

Russel Hunt made that board. He was down in Albany for a few years. I rode a few of his boards over the years.

i guess ill just have to give it a crack.
was given the board for my 14th birthday and even then it was probably too small for me to learn to surf on.
i reckon the rocker will really kill my speed. regarding the wine rack....emptied it prior weekend :D

seen load of surfer on 8m kites... but i reckon ill need my 10m for anything under 20 knots still with this board...
