Review from some test rides.

I demoed the 9m SKY in marginal wind averaging between 15and 20knot at a local beach in melbourne after I had been struggling for power on my 12m FX. I could not believe the bottom end this kite had, for a 9m it was powered. I was able to stay up wind when the wind was closer to 15knots no issue at all and I'm around 100kg. At the time I was also using the Fluid Black Label, that combination took the session from mediocre to enjoyable! I'm keen to try the 11m now for an all round freeride.
Pros Bottom end power Ease of use and control Even power through the wind window
Cons Bar pressure a little too light

Hi Dan here's my review of the fluid board and 10m ATV, . Let's start with the board, i really love the natural look of the wood appearance and i reckon the best looking board ive seen anywhere. And has you mentioned it is really comfortable when things get a bit choppy. As for the spray reduction design that works a treat too. Now lets me mention the 10m ATV, this has been my only kite i really ever use, i can get going in 18 knots and hang on in gusts over 30 knots. Im 80kg and the kites sweet spot for me is 25 knots. Pumping up the kite is a breeze using just one valve and the canopy has a nice design fully inflated but one thing that is a pain is the leading edge doesn't sit flush on the beach. I got a footy sock filled with sand to bring the leading edge down. Performance wise i haven't put it thru it paces as im still a little scared of getting to high in my jumps and i can feel this kite has enormous potential for big hangtime. The kite is hugely responsive and its really improved my transitions. The kite looks strong and i really like the open mesh pockets in the canopy that let the water out. The bridle system is cool looks like some serious work gone into designing that. The lines and bar are fine nothing to get excited about but no criticisms either. The kite bag is nice and light and sits comfortably and my back during the bike rides to my local beach at St Kilda , one complaint though is the board tethering straps are to short. To sum up i really happy with my Fluid combo and just love getting out there and improving all the time.

Ahh the old FLUID kites... the precursor to all the injuries, soggy BBQs and failed Sappher photographs at Altona Beach. Ahhh the memories. I think the last I heard Stevo from KSS is in Indo now kiting.

Haha memorie, Steve sold the business to his designer Gilion years ago and he has been pushing the brand into higher and better things.

2011 was my first one, when Steve had the brand, but since Gilion took over its been going strong in europe, I got a second hand 2014 10m ego from Steve some time ago which was deveoped by gilion and I loved it, I reached out to Gilion and we got to talking, He sent over some demo Boards for a MKH demo day at Inverloch and I got a 2017 ego new and started as a promotions and demo for Fluid. So now I have the 9m sky 12m ATV 12m Ego Fluid black label board 2/7 wood series board and the Minimalist woodseries all for demo.

Strong in Europe? Nobody rides em even in the Netherlands where Gillion runs his backyard business. In NL Gillion claims the brand is big in Oz....

Why on earth would you consider this brand unless you can buy at a massive discount....

Thanks for your thoughts, when you tried the Fluid Gear what was your main concerns with it, always happy to hear constructive reviews.

I am sure the kites fly ok.

i guess i am responding more to claims made about strong sales performance in other countries. Simply not true.

Fair enough probably my fault and a poor choice of words, Fluid is a small company, but has enough sales and following for Gilion to make it his full time job even recently giving up the teaching cause of lack of time. One of the benefits is also being able to keep prices where they should be.

Probably would have got a kinder response if you had declared your involvement with the brand at start.

Were not my reviews was not trying to fool anyone, just wanted to post some reviews around the brand, there isn't much out there, I'm not in sales I'm not a sponsored rider, I don't make money from Fluid. happy for anyone to test and review.
