I'm trying to make a decision on the Dash vs Pivot.

I have a 2019 9m Dash - I fly it on 24m and 22m line sets. It is great to fly, but it just beats the ** out of me on windy days (22-24kts), I cant get the thing in the right area of the window so that I'm confident in jumps. Lighter wind (18kts) however is awesome, and I love the feel of the hybrid C although I barely unhook.

New Dash is cheap. I'm thinking an 11m Dash for <18kts and an 8m Pivot for 22kt+. I've never flown a Pivot, I've been told they are really powerful so you need a size down from your regular kite. I can imagine what they are like due to the shape, seems like the Slingshot Rev 2 which I had for a while. Easy boosting, low power loops and more forgiving in windy conditions.

I'm 75kg been kiting since '09.

Any advice appreciated.
Cheers

It kind of depends on what type of riding you like to focus on. I rode Pivots from 2015-18 but this was when they were tuned more as a wave cross-over kite. With its successes in big-air, it has subsequently been tuned to advance this style with a higher aspect ratio etc.

I would call the Dash a more all-rounder/free-style oriented Kite and I don't think this has changed since it's inception.

I don't think you can go wrong with either kite but I think if boosting is your jam then an 11/8m Pivot combo would do the trick. You'll have a familiar/consistent feel in all conditions this way and your riding will benefit. I've read the 2022 Pivot was a standout model and may be a cost effective option.

Happy winds!
