That's one of the most pointless product teasers ever.
So Naish dropped the Park / awesome Freeride kite, and now have
Pivot Freeride / wave
Dash Performance / Freeride
Slash Wave / Freeride
Ride Freeride / Freeride
Torch Comp Freestyle
Boxer Foil / Freeride
and now the new Triad which is right for 99.9% of Kitesurfers which must be freeride / freeride / freeride then,?
Did naish check to see if they are allowed to use the word Triad? Curious to know. Seems risky. May be copyrighted.

These are just copy pastes I found in google. But yah Triad is an old word; A triad, meaning a "group of three". so probably same as Nexus, Enduro and Moto. ( I'm sure Motorolla had phrase, "Hello Moto" and dont see cab having issues?)
A single word is not considered a Creative Work by copyright law. The definition for the word could probably be copyrighted, but keep in mind that people could probably state the same idea with different words.
If it is an existing word, you didn't create it. If it is a made up word, perhaps if it is long enough to be considered a work of authorship, you could copyright it, but that is not a given and for made up words, I don't expect that you would get a lot of people wanting to copy that word if it doesn't mean anything to them.

I would disagree, without giving away anything explains exactly where it is aimed.
The word "Freeride" is a term that does get used a lot because basically you can Freeride any kite really.
Dash, Slash and Torch are all somewhat kites that are bias to a specific riding style (Freestyle/performance or waves).
Pivot, Ride and Boxer are all kites that have broader spectrum. Still perfectly suitable for any style, and with higher attributes than the opposing product from the cross specialised kites (i.e. The Pivot will be a better freestyle/performance kite than the Slash and a better wave kite than the Dash).
Now within the 3 main Freeride kites, you have;
- Pivot - Higher aspect ratio, a more aggressive power spike as it passes through the window, exponential lift generation. Generally a great kite and definitely suitable for any rider, but possibly better suited to someone who wants to jump (big), and likes power, riding faster.
- Ride - Low aspect ratio. A far more broader power delivery, increasing a lot more seamlessly throughout the window with a much more mild spike resulting in a more predictable power delivery and easier/less intimidating ride. Arguably the kite that majority of kiters probably should be on. Jumps well, relaunches amazing, stable, excellent bottom end.
- Boxer - One Strut. A deeper profile with its centre of effort further back in the profile, making a kite that will ride/feel big for its size and sit deeper in the window as if it was 2 sizes bigger. This is excellent for foiling as you can get away with a much smaller and easier to manage size once up on the foil but with bottom end to boot, or for people just wanting to cruise back and forth or adventure around with minimal load. Being compact and ultra light, it is also great to travel with. I also quite like it for super light wind wave riding (onshore).
So really there is a little more of a story there to align a kite that best suits your style, ability and intentions.
Now, where does the TRIAD fit in.....
Like with all things, continued R&D, testing and innovation bring new things. And something that Naish Kiteboarding is adding to their already thorough arsenal is the TRIAD. The Triad essentially has a lot of the attributes of the RIDE. But along with over 20years of developing kites and 20 seasons of models some really cool characteristics. In basic, the TRIAD will suit your general everyday kiter. Easy to use, excellent bottom end power and increased top end (compared to the RIDE), awesome stability, predictable, intuitive, super easy re-launch, amazing on-water wingtip wait and go, easy sheet and go power, easy jumping and landing.
So why go the TRIAD over the other 2?
If massive boosting (like the PIVOT) is not your thing. You value control over on your toes performance. You do not require a deeper sitting kite (i.e.for foiling) so you can use a smaller size. You want a kite that is just simply easy to use that will do everything you want it to, when you want it to. Easy, simple, effective and FUN.
I hope this helps a little to explain the "Freeride" saga that formed above. The teaser was to do just that - Tease!
More info coming soon!!! Stay tuned.

Ah. I was only baseing on my knowledge of the Helps Angels having their name aswell as skull and wing copywrited. They have successfully sued a few people before. That was in America ofcourse where sueing is alot easier.
Knock knock

LOL thats so bad it's funny.
The 2008 Cult was the "user friendly all-terrain kite that works in all conditions for 90% of the worlds riders"...
Should have brought back the Cult name.
And this is why we love the forums
Anyway, to those that are interested, you should see a lot more info hit the airwaves in just over 2 weeks.
Enjoy,
Ride safe,

Rash?
There is quite a few unique features to the TRIAD. It carries innovations from the Ride, Boxer and blends them with the performance of the Pivot.
The centre "Luff Strut" provides excellent bottom end and instant sheet and go power whilst still providing optimal top end stability and control in gusts. It's lower aspect than the Pivot adds greater stability, easy of launch and land along with super easy relaunch and amazing wingtip water wait (will sit on it's wingtip on the side of the window with awesome stability). Whilst at first the TRIAD may seem to overlap the PIVOT in some ways, it really is the perfect compliment giving the bulk of the kite market the ultimate choice with preference to key aspects and features to suite their riding style, level and ability.
The TRIAD is not a "Beginners" kite, it's performance will impress you.

Is it just a flatter arc pivot?

Thanks Magnus, this video helps to clear up my first response to the introduction of the Triad, sounds interesting. Will look at a demo run.
Cheers
Why didn't you just say it was a NEO?
Robbies description is pretty much from NEO page on the DUOTONE site.
