Had 13mtr out in 20kts+ today

Scared the sheet out of me

This thing was jumping sooooo big

My old 2010 edge jumps big
But you had to dial in on the technique
The new one turns when and how you want it to

I need to get me one of those gps height reading things for bragging rights

But i easily cleared my mates kite by a fair bit

20 knts + is perfect for the 13.
If you like the 13 you'll fall in love with the 11m.....
Its an insane little pocket rocket that surpasses your expectations, but be warned...you might not want to fly a 13 after a session on the 11m V9.

So by that logic???

"You might not want to fly a 11 after a session on the 10m V9."

Pretty sure your missing something champ.

Silly kite companies making all these sizes when they should just make an 11.

Regarding the post from Ozone Kites AUS from 6 April last: Quote - "... as is the bag finally. The bag has the zipper on the side not in the centre, makes putting the kite away so much easier, spare parts compartment is not hidden inside. - Unquote. Unless Ozone supplies different kite bags in Australia compared to Europe, I don't understand what is meant here. Actually the v9 Edge kite bag is i.m.o. a major downgrade from the previous version kitebags (of all Ozone kites I assume). The bags of my 2015 Zephyr and v1 Enduro's all have an "inner bag" which actually makes storing the kite much easier. Even straps for fastening the bar are provided on one side of the inner bag. The new kite bag doesn't have the inner bag anymore, which doesn't facilitate storing the kite. Although totally not important for the functionality, the new bag doesn;t have Ozone's name sown on at various places anymore and the backstraps have become lighter at the bottom. So in effect the bag has become cheaper and simpler, which is a pity for such a stunning kite. As far as the spare parts compartment is concerned: the zipper of the spare parts compartment was on the outside, but is now actually on the inside. I find this an improvement, because it increases the chance of the spare parts compartment staying dry when the bag is in the rain.

But of course it's all about the new v9 Edge: I have a 10 metre and this is i.m.o. indeed a stunning kite, a true high adrenaline machine with for me surprisingly quick steering!

Hi Cees14

I'm not able to comment on kites delivered in your country. In Australia and the rest of the world though Ozone has not included the inner back for several years since approx 2011 from memory. A version of the inner bag can still be purchased as an accessory, as a compression bag.
The zipper has been moved to the side of the gusset and the annoying inside sleeves have been deleted, makes getting your kite back into your bag so much easier. The bar can just go inside the bag or as I do I leave it out as its normally wet. Otherwise the bag is made from the same quality materials as the current model Reo, Enduro, etc.
Glad you like the kite though, it really is a very different kite to fly hey!

It turns much tighter across all the sizes. Still high AR, still flies fast, much easier to relaunch, especially in the sizes above 11M. The tip shape is quite different, so the bridle is also different. Its a not a completely new kite, it is still an Edge, but its gone back to being more focussed on freeriding without losing its speed, so now it boosts big and long much easier than the Edge V8 and V7's.
Other users have added plenty of comments about it now in the other pages of this thread.

How heavy is the bar pressure compared to the 2013/13 models?

Slightly more I reckon, and they still have the 3 rear line settings for bar pressure/steering speed. Turns tighter.

See earlier in this thread....... Jason from West Oz Boardsports was riding the 9m i an awesome storm sessio with myself probably 8 weeks ago now and he was going into orbit. Really reckon the 9m is worth a crack in 25knts plus

To my surprise. ...Ive watched others get skunked on flysurfers and 16m Nitros while able to keep plaining on 150 x 50 shinn KG and an 11m v9 - 95kg rider.

Bottom end is enviable....

Ooops, been busy and not checking the forum as much. Bottom end is a bit better, the turn is a bit more pivotal you can tweak more out of the bottom end for sure, similar top end from what I've heard.

So a 11m v9 edge has a better low end than a 16m switch Nitro?

What size Flysurfer does the 11m v9 edge have a better low end than?

I've been riding all the edges for many years now (disclosure: Ozone team rider) and this one is a little different and the most user friendly one yet. Took a 9m V9 Edge as my one kite quiver with foil and twin tip for 8 weeks of kiting pretty much every day in 6orless to 30something+ knots. Another guy I was travelling with had a 7m and 11m V9 so I had a good idea of a few sizes.

Very impressed! The main differences with the last edges are that:
1) Turns faster, and more "Enduro like"
2) Smoother power delivery (not as punchy in the heavy gusty stuff and better for foiling)
3) Touch more stable in the sky, but the previous edges were really good at that too.
5) Bit more hang time
6) More bottom end, not just in the raw power, but you can get more power out of the turns too.

It is a seriously good kite, gave it to lots of other people to try along the way and they all thought it was epic. I never really felt like I was overpowered - and I was trying my best to go out when it was very very windy!

Awesome kite!

Hi guys we had the 10mtr v9 Edge up here in Noosa a couple of weeks ago and we managed to get both some of the locals and myself out on it. Over all everyone was impressed with it. The big difference to me was it felt much more responsive through turns and loops, and for me that was a great improvement as looping during jumps is my thing. On a whole most of the guys found it faster in light wind and more stable in high wind (no flapping)
Hope this helps.
George
