Designed new shape through Covid winter in Melbourne Unfortunately was not able to test it in INDO waves trip this year 5'5" x 18.5" x 2 1/8" x 24.7 Lts we have combined our Wave B rocker and outline with our Shredder MK4 planning hull ( double con channel through the center with con ever side) thin rails with (grab step rails) our bat wing tail with flyers and this time a swallow Also went back to old school with PU blank with 1/4" white wood stringer / New High Tensile Aus cloth and polyester resin Be interesting to see how deck holds up ? Have used it bay chop so far And for me at 80kg I normally prefer 20 to 22 Lt boards But due to reduced tail area and sharp edges ( swallow second flyers) it was very sharp in the turns and was able to sink tail and rails for up wind and turns Traveled well through the chop and got up planning well with planning hull . Another rider in 90 kg tried and also loved the turns ( he normally on pro Fone Carbon ) But he did say it seem less volume which was funny due to his board was less in high 21 Lts But I no from my Vac Carbon boards 2 kg there is definitely a difference in light weight boards Used with Medium Quobba's and power house Ocean Rodeo Aluula 6m kite Which I am loving
Nice looking boards whats the rough retail on something like that.
What benefits does the double concave achieve in the very centre of the boards. Duotone are doing this also. The older designs had the concaves further to the outside.
And a more spread out concave.?
After the last post I looked at the smook website and found the details and prices there. Competitive with most other brands.
Will be looking forward to feed back on the new quad concave shape.
