Anyone tryed the new Darko board from SS. It looks ok shape wise, but the new fast track mounting system is something i havent seen on a kiteboard before, I know that burton use it on there snowboards but they have little windows to get acurate mounting and angle positions. Would be good to have that sort of acurate adjustment, does anyone know if this system works the same, or if ss are going to bring out a foot strap with adjustment windows in them so you can tune them in.
The footstraps come on the binding plate so you can adjust the angle of the stance as well as the position apart.
They are really easy to put on, just slide the 2 bolts into the track, place on the strap and binding plate in the required angle and tighten. It takes less than a minute. Works well if you share the board as you can just adjust it when you want.
The track flexes with the board, (which has a nice amount of flex) and I think you will find it on more boards in the future.
The fast track mounting system is also available on the Aviso surfboards that Slingshot are involved with. I got to have a look at one around christmas and it looked like a really good system. On a surfboard its great because you can remove the straps really quickly if you want to ride unstrapped. Anything that helps you customise your stance is a good feature. The new bolt on 2 pad/strap looks nice. can't wait to try one.
Got my new Darko last week. I got to have a quick go on it yesterday in light wind with my new 12 RPM. The pads/straps are a big improvement on the ones they released with the Lunacy. They are really comfy and the straps have more padding. The fast track system is awesome. It is so easy to adjust! The board was pretty smooth through the chop.
PS The 12m RPM was pretty impressive even in really light wind. It turns really fast and with very little bar pressure
Can't wait to have a go in stronger wind
