Im going to buy the new Xenon Prisma 2013 6.0, Riding the 2012 last year, i was very happy with it. Not the best board for big waves, but nice on small on shore conditions. Have some problems with fin inserts.
So did any one try the new 2013 model?

My Comments:
I don't know about the wave handling size, but have had it out in 6 to 8 foot with no problem...great board.
Issues, definitely the fin boxes. The said they have addressed this in the 2013 model, and now its a squash instead of a fish tail as well.
I have one due next month, hope it holds up better than the other because I really love riding this board.
Hi guys,
here a bit of info for the new 2013 Xenon surfs- i try to summarise a bit of extra info about them:
Surfs are made of eps/epoxy Bamboo(Prisma) Ebony (Vidra) sandwich coated with combination of different fibreglass (45°,90°,4oz, 6oz). The layup is dedicated to kitesurfing so all important areas like standing are, rails, leash plug, and fin boxes are reinforced compare to traditional surfs. The 2013 fin boxes are placed in high density PVC blocks for more strength and better board response. The whole surf line is much more reinforced than last year.
The 2013 range are made only with the best components available - Xenon uses top notch French Porcher fibreglass (they supply fiberglass to Airbus for example),Euro Epoxy resin..
All that makes this construction pretty special - the flex of the board is incredible as for eps/epoxy- you really feel it working under your feet, accurate and responsive.
Let m know if you keen to demo one of the new Surfs.
They will be available mid to end of May.
cheers
I have always loved the flex of these boards. I have both...I do ride the Prisma more, I fell in love quads all over again once I started kiting. Saying that I have broken both fin boxes from riding big waves, mainly lefts, and the bottom left fin gave away first on both boards. I ripped them out to have a look and sure enough there was nowhere near enough reinforcement. I reset them with small stringers and laminated them to the underside of the bamboo, they have held up just fine since.
I jump these boards alot and there is no sign of wear on the board itself, just the odd pressure ding etc.
Saying this Xenon was quick to respond that they will look into this matter and we have sorted something out. Meanwhile they redesigned the board to prevent this happening again. I commend them on that.
These were the first kite surfboards that I rode that actually felt like a surfboard, smooth flex on the turns, fast, and seriously fun. I tried a friends Wam a few times, and while I liked the board, it did feel stiff and corky. The Wam goes upwind better than any board I have seen yet though...and my friends board looks like new after a couple of seasons.
