Is the weather that bad ? By the way, I just bought my stuff and Id like to begin. Is it a good idea to start alone ? I was thinking about getting some lessons. Im close to the sunshine coast. Is there a good school there ? Good and not too expensive ?

Sorry for all these questions !

I don't get what's so hard to understand.

At traffic lights you go when it's green right?

Well, if the winds are high up there, and green, then get out there and kite!

I thought that would be obvious.

Red arrows meaning it's good? Now that's weird.

I didn't get lessons. IMO they are a waste of time. Money would be better spent on some brand new kit, and a how to kite DVD. However I downloaded mine off the net.

Keep in mind that my advice is against the grain. All the sheep will tell you that you should get lessons.

Dangerous sport if not respected, the coupla hundred spent on lessons should save you time (learning curve) and kit (less smacking the ground).
P.s. I didn't get LEI lessons either - bought a power kite and taught myself on snow - but always with a mate or the missus around.

So Thomas. What have you done so far? I've PM'd you some ideas. Any comments/feedback? The last thing we want is someone out there without a single idea of what a kite is, let alone controlling the darn thing near the public or us kiters for that matter.

Winds pumped early today from 11am. 17knots by 2pm and pumping even more. Looks like a great week ahead, yet again at Palla.

Yet another week of lulls and no wind.

COME ON HUEY !!!!

Looks like next week is going to be good, but then again - Seabreeze is like about 10knots over reality. Who/what does this? It's cruel!
