Yes, all year round. Stinger suits a must of course during Summer. Townsville is the Meca of kite foiling.

Well - sure was concerned about hitting the water here in Ayr during summer when I moved from Vic to here 5 years ago .
First summer I had the stinger suit on with boardies on - damn what a look!
Since then - the sun is a bigger issue so wear long sleave rashie, hat etc
Never seen a croc (bull sharks are probably more of a concern) and blue bottles and hairy lipped jelly fish ( they get sliced and diced by the foil) occasionally ??
Its not as deadly as its made out !!

Brissy has year round kitefoil, probably about 7 sessions a week September thru April, and 3-4 sessions a week May thru August.

We had ten kitefoilers and three wingers enjoying the beautiful weather here in Bowen last weekend. Top people from down south. Trying to keep it secret without much success.

some ppl dont bother with stingersuits in summer for various reasons, when i lived up there thered frequently be people from darwin whod never bother with them either. i think i used to wear them between November and February but there never used to be much wind then.
