Rain bloody rain easterlys and southeasters . If this is the start of winter i am moving too an island up north . Is anyone really geting any wind out there cause this sux where i am . Is there a safari up north for kiter too camp for a week .
Yeah the rain sucks as do the easterlys, im still only learning and havent had much luck latley particualy with the strong south ESE/SE winds which dont make it easy for me let alone with the surf looking rather messy to the point that i wouldent bother swimming let alone risk kiting in it. BTW im on the Gold coast
Hi, I am only learning too, started in December and have only just got to the stage of maintaing my position upwind, the easterly winds we have had lately in north NSW have been good for Balina River. Its only a small area but flat water was great for a beginner. Get a leash though as the current can be strong on an outgoing tide and don't go there if the water is dirty as it is a known Bull shark area
Hell yeah , i had my 7m in 25 kn on wednesday arvo .gusting more and gusty

Yer good on ya madsailor lets look at it for a second .... more BLOODY EASTERLYS There has got too be a good flat water spot between bris and glastone that you can kite on an easterly . Went out in that wednesday stuff and yep the ocean had become one big washing machine up down back front you know what i mean . ITS NOT what i call kiteboarding Just pownded me knees to pieces . Like i said easterlys SUX . Bring on October northerlys . LONG WAIT COMMING
and that's exactly WHY I MOVED BACK TO BEAUTIFUL SUNNY TROPICAL WINDY WARM FRIENDLY SYDNEY Cheers T [}:)][}:)][}:)]
I'm tempted to get myself up there and try out these so called 'easterlies', (the ones forecast for Friday onwards). From what I can find out Shearwater and surrounding area is ok. Any better sugestions?

:) I have beach at Lennox, thanx for the tip tho
Lol, boohoo mummy I want flat water...HTFU and hit some waves and give the kite a flicky with a solid 25knot soueaster you may be pleasantly suprised by the delicious boost that is waiting for you.
Yer ok went out today in some 23kn easterly and you are right wishy got some air time although the wind was like dirty the ocean was like a washing machine there was some good stuff there and i had too deal with the s..t . You cant always get what you want and havnt been out much you have got too grab what you can when you can . Also had some fun with my sons 4 meter dna i didnt think that it would do s..t with my 60 kgs but it turned out too be a top seson. Talk about fast through the air it was going off its tits [}:)]
how much wind do you want ? dont like it ? go back home sook leave the surf for the people that apreciate it
hey arab you are right i would leave the surf too people who love it hell i love the surf too WE DONT GET SURF in hervey bay and in this wind we get wind generatored waves that come at you in 5 different directions . Calling a person a sook for this is not a fair call . I do love surf and i drive 2 hours to get into it when i can . Like i said before you got take what there and live with that . Or i do stay at home . So that makes me a sook apparently .
I have just returned from 2 days up the coast from Bris. Have been riding 20 to 30 knots all week end on almost flat water. Yes it got a little gusty at times, mainly saturday when rain squalls came through but we where up at 6 this morning for a seven o clock session before breakfast with only two other kites in the water. Actually there was only about seven at one time all week end. All you have to do is look. Pick up a map and see whats around.
Hey Dafunk . I am the manager of the pialba caravan park and this is the place i normaly kite . Right in front of the park which is the side of piont vernon that is were the prob is i get all the built up wind waves from frazer right through too us one big washing machine of wind waves good fun sometimes on an south easterly but only for short birst . Ideal winds are northerly clean and constant and you can crusie around in the bay for hours and hit some waves too but you also can ride between them too (give knees a brake) The bigest it has ever been out there that i have seen would only top at 3 feet . Got to go for a drive to get real waves .
yeah i hear ya surface2air .
i sailed there for any years . im not sure if some of the good old spots would be suitable for kites .
if i recall point vernon at low tide might be ok , watch out for rocks .
northerlies , gatakers bay gets okish waves , but there wouldnt be any launch zone at high tide .
im just wondering if kiters use the old spots?
