For those at St Kilda Marina yesterday (Mon 9th Feb) you may have seen a guy get his kite tangled in the mast of a moored yacht.
He was rescued by another kiter to bring him back to shore after some time trying to untangle the kite and bring it down.
The kite is still there. Fortunately the RMYC and yacht owner have been very understanding and helpful in the matter.
The primary concern is the safety of the vessel, anyone nearby and the environment in the event the kite comes loose.
Please note that attempts will be made to remove the kite this week. Please do not try to assist in the meantime due to liability / insurance reasons.
All the accessible lines have been slashed and the kite deflated in order to let it stream out and not catch wind.
If you notice the kite becoming particularly dangerous in the coming days - please message me.

I hope you didn't mean in that order! :P
Smithy, ... I think you're being unnecessarily suspicious. Just because "J"'s favorite sport is: "St Kilda Marina" doesn't mean he set the profile up just to ask for his kite back ;-)
But a timely reminder that the Marina often has pretty dirty / gusty air.. best to keep clear if you can or give the boats a wide berth of you can't.
