yes it was strong and fun in port melb. Sun was out and some big gusts near the end of the day and then having to work the kite a bit before the next blast hit with plenty of grunt.
looks like a similar day today!
Great session at Altona on my 10, was over powered at 4pm so I packed up,Saw a couple of run away kites but that sounds standard stuff for Altona. It was a sand storm when I was driving off.
I had Balnarring to my self for a noon lesson with the fine people from PKB.
It was awesome. Mostly around 22 KTS. First time I got my brand new 9m out of the bag.
Stoked!
hi suniboy21 were you at barrow head on the red kite? sorry to hear about the shoulder.
Yeah that was me!
I caught an edge and ended up cartwheeling through ankle deep water.
Lucky Mark came in when he did, would have been a struggle to pack up on my own!
Turns out I've torn my collar bone where it connects to my shoulder.
Spewin, just in time for summer
Sorry to hear of your injury Suniboy21. Rest up and get well.
Mentone was pumping on Saturday, and gusty too. Great for boosting.

Oh **** dude! That looked so innocuous. I had no idea that was going down at the time.
How long does the doc give you before you can get back?
Hi Sunniboy
I saw Mark helping you with the kite but I didn't know what had happened to you until I got out of the water. I wish you quick recovery.
On that day the winds were gusty. I was on my 6 meter kite and other on 7, 8 and 9 meter kites.
Here is a picture of that day. cheers
Saturday at Altona was great on my 9 when I started at ~2. But then the wind increased and I made the mistake of thinking it was ok to stay out as I was a long way from the beach so safe, forgetting about the getting back to the beach bit. The wind kept increasing and I decided the safest way to get back would be to release the safety then wind the kite onto the bar. I discovered that is not so easy when it's really windy. Luckily a kiter was able to wade out and grab the kite for me when I got close to the beach. Big thanks to him. And also thanks to the kiter who tried to help me out in the water and the guy who brought my board in.
Next time I'll be heading in early when the wind starts to increase :)

Yeah if it wasn't for mark, I would have had to leave all my gear there.
Very grateful!
