I thought it was supposed to be good, La Nina hasn't been great last few years.

The Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) has a stronger impact on the wind/weather in Perth compared to El Nino.

Either way, it looks like we will have both El Nino and a positive IOD this summer.

A positive IOD combined with an El Nino pattern translates to more frenquent heat waves and more easterly winds, which means less sea breezes. Anytime the temps are above 35c the chances of getting decent sea breezes are quite slim. It's possible that will we see many heatwaves this summer, starting from November and going until the end of February.

That being said, outside of heatwaves events, I believe we will see quite strong and regular sea breezes (stronger breezes compared to the past 3 La Nina seasons).
