As someone living and kitting in WA for the last 8 years and around the world for 8 years previous to that, just watch this video and hopefully take it "onboard" particularly in the "Pond"

Yep, agree, doesn't hurt revisiting those basic common sense rules. Add the starboard vs port way of right rule for two kiters approaching each (further out there) and short tacking, and maybe the suggestion to obey the freestyle circuit in the pond (the latter being too much to understand for most people so let's focus on the rest first). And smile ;-)

Yeah like when there's numbers kiting the inside, don't teach your girlfriend inside the pond (bad etiquette). go to the outside where the recognized learning spot is (good etiquette). Also, when there's numbers, don't wade out into the water and stand right on the main trick spot to take photos of your mate (bad etiquette). If you must take photos at the main trick spot, stand on the sand bank and use zoom (good etiquette).

Hopefully the foreign sounding guy that was kiting down at woodies last week will watch this and learn something
I was set up on beech 1 2nd car park with a trainer kite for my son and my nine the wind was very low so my son was having a ball with the trainer then eventually my 9 in the waters edge
The wind got up so my son came out and this other guy got in , the beech is not too wide except for a 20/30 m patch so he went out only about 60 to 100 m and came back in saying the wind was sh,,,t but he kept doing this , I launched and got into the water when he was out but once again he returned into the beech but this time he got off his board and stood just up wind of me then dropped his kite on top of me and my lines ( total idiot ) I had to drop mine in the water walk out and un tangle
This guy believed the area was his and was not moving anywhere even after asking and trying to explain about etiquette
