Hey there guys,

I've been looking around online for some info on the windy season up in Exmouth and honestly haven't found much. I'll be heading up that way, moving from Margaret River, around May or June and planning to stay a few months. Wondering what the wind is normally like around then?

And after living in Margaret River the past few months, I'm not sure I can live life without waves haha... Anyone know of any good wave sailing spots there? Seems like I've found a few youtube videos of nice little long boarding waves at Exmouth. Does it ever get big without having to road trip south to Gnaraloo? Wondering if anyone could shed a little light on the subject.

Thanks for any and all info guys! Cheers and hopefully see you in the water sometime!

Leave your kites at home and with the extra room take your surfboards and fishing gear.

Nah mate, winds fairly ordinary, waves are fat and not much swell gets up that far.

Best bet would be to stay down south.

July aug sept is surf season there its wicked
Mid sept oct nov wind and swell
Looks clean like this
June till nov is the best time there..kite over whales hammerheads etc
Before that its snorkle sup or fish or jumping on one of the many fishing divinG type charter
Creatively speaking after margs or europe or melbourne u r gonna find it pretty backwards I couldn't handle whitney houston ..one allways country and western pub or kevin bacon footloose but u will definitely find some good cats around and maybe a 'local' band...good luck...
Take an ipod...

Timmy what were you smokin in the Nor West buddy???? I am a little amused at your reference to Whitney and others.
Please tell..............
I've been to Exe a few times but never spent time in town other than to re-supply. I have met some interesting sorts up that way :)
To the OP maybe send a msg to Scott @ www.ningalooexcape.com.au/ or Tom at the local Kite school.

In Short The wind won't start cooking until September, August can have some days but its hit and miss. Swell is at its best from May/June through until October, If you only kite waves then you needn't bother bringing kites in the winter, nearly all the wind comes from an Easterly direction which can be good if you like flat but down the line it is not. You need summer SW winds to get good wave riding

The wind and waves align nicely between late August to early November...

If you are a Southern wave snob (no offence) then you might have reason to complain, If you like good small waves in awesome scenery with the occasional big swell then you'll be more than happy...

Just remember it isn't Margs, heaps of crew flood up every year and complain its not as consistent, or isn't big enough for their ego the great thing is, line ups remain uncrowded whilst these crew talk about how good the surf is down South from the car park

Thanks so much for all of the info guys. It's much appreciated! I'm super excited for all of the natural beauty, nature both underwater and above, and to experience this awesome new spot! Sounds like I'll have to get a Mal then : ) Hope to connect with ya if any of you are in Exmouth around that time.

Cheers,

Danny

Spent the morning pushing backpacker chicks into waves, it's a tough gig, you'd hate it
