hey where do you ride? Im always looking for good big places, parks ovals ecc. with clean winds but the only park i know with reasonable wind is in Melville on the river, and i heard that Langley park in the city is good to ride on havent been there yet though, i always drive down to the Rockingham saltlakes to landboard on weekends or sometimes weekdays mornings if im not too busy at work.

Hey Alex, Just wondering what the go is with landboarding at the salt lake in rockingham as the gate has always been locked when ive been there in the past. Ive just brought a landboard and would be keen to get out on the salt lake. cheers.

Hi Duncankite, ye the big gate is mostly locked, except weekends sometimes when the model plane guys or land yacht guys are on the lake. I think to get a key you need to join 1 of their clubs. But theres a smaller gate just in front of the car park. It is always open, but it opens just about half a meter so that no motocycles can enter the lake. On a Easterly or Westerly you can just set up the kite after a 100m walk and ride down to the actual kite spot. Its about a km walk if the wind direction is unsuitable to ride.
Atm we are 4 people kiting at the lake, 3 buggies and me on the Landboard.
Would be great to see you down there someday.

PS: Dont forget head to toe protections, the lake surface is like a big cheese grater.

regards
alex

Unfortnately there is no Landboarding or Buggying allowed at the salt lake in Rockingham during the winter so im not riding very oftem atm but downhill at the goat farm is fun too and also had a few good sessions at the Melville park but wind direction isnt always good.. probl heading down to Singleton to the Laurie Stanford Reserve on Monday morning, forcast looks pretty good..cant wait to ride on the salt lake again..
Would be great to catch up sometime, always good to see a few kites up the sky..
