Hey guys once again after giving up looking for nearby parks about a year and a half ago I have found a good place near where I live in Ipswich but the problem is the wind is so patchy , is this the norm for this far in land and will there ever be any good days where the wind will be constant or should I just give up on the wind this far in land as I have been about 8 times, every time kite flies but it just starts loft and fall out of the sky then gust comes in lifting it again.
My landboard still remains brand new never used from mid 2012 and would like to start using it.
It is very un-rideable but due to living so far from the coast it would be nice to only have to drive 15-20 minutes for a kite sometimes instead of driving all the way to Sandgate. Even if Logan had somewhere to go that would be great.
Anyway just thought I would ask if anyone has been trying in a similar situation and have found some days do blow a reasonably clean wind.
Hi twojaythomo
Sorry no QLD local knowledge but as for inland landboarding
Stick with it - there is great wind to be found inland
i specificly moved to an inland spot when i lived in the uk (90km from the ocean)
there is definitely good days and bad . . . . and every now and then you will get some amazing wind
The bonus is you will happily fly in slighly dirtier wind to those that are spoiled by the beach wind when your at meets, ive seen it happen so many times
Yeah I will keep at it bound to get a day sooner or later just think there might be too many trees disrupting the air flow, I hope I get a clean enough day soon.
Land kiting up here in Townsville is picking up a lot now with regular rides along Pallarenda beach and Oonoonba Park just south of the CBD.
