The mountains got a half metre of snow overnight.....bring it on!!!. I plan to go up to do some snow kiting within the next month subject to conditions and getting a leave pass!
Nice, might be time to visit my parents ,,they live like 20 mins away at Anglers Reach Lake Eucumbene..
This weekend might be looking good for some snowkiting...moderate SE.......hmmmm....I wonder if I could get a leave pass!!!?
Do it FlyingDutchman!
Maybe a little drizzley but it looks like the wind will be great!
I look forward to your report back from the top of mt K..
OK......Drizzly or not, I'm going down to the snow to give it a go tomorrow (Sat)......if backcountry not welcoming then I'll spend the day down hill skiing. My windows of opportunity to go snow kiting are limited, so "ya take what ya get".
I remember last time we had a E to SE we scooted up to the top of Mt Kosciuszko...so who know what tomorrow will bring!!!
Wish you were coming Tim, but I guess bub takes precedence!!!

Last weekend ended up being a fizzer....great hiking weather, but Peter (met him at the top of Thredbo preparing to head off for some snowkiting. He has a 10m Access which he hoped to launch for the first time in the snow!) and I sat in the backcountry forlornly waiting for even a breath of air. Instead we had coffee at Eagles Nest and I went home early.
This weekend may bring some wind particularly on Sunday, so I might contemplate going up again. The snow conditions were not too bad in the backcountry, but the downhill runs at Thredbo were crap, so didn't buy a arvo ticket for a spot of downhill last Saturday. With the warm conditions leading into the weekend, downhill skiing might be a bit ordinary this weekend too.
