Went for a walk to Edmondsons Hut and went for a kite, vis was only about 100m at best, the wind was 25kts gusting 40kts in exposed areas, and the cover is still very thin, but had a fun day and with a few more dumps the VIC backcountry is going to be ON!

25-40kn what size kite do you use for that? I imagine it's not too bad being under powered on the snow, does it just affect your upwind ability?

I was easily able to pull both myself and a friend with an 8m LEI c-kite, even when it was on the lighter side of the 25-40kts (combined weight was approx 160kg). So typically smaller kites on the snow, and if you utilize the terrain you can get 'upwind' quite efficiently.
