If anyone has Fed 5 plans from the past I would be willing to pay for a copy.
Also, if anyone has pictures of Fed 5 yachts please post them here.
If anyone has drawings of the Fed 5, whether factory or mods, please post them here.
I have an original Fed 5 sail which I overlay onto Windsurf sails, or any other sail for that matter, for the re-cut pattern.
If anyone wants the outline template, let me know. Includes luff curve, foot and leech.
The fastest winning U.S. sail designs are based off the original Fed 5 sail. It is rumored that Sailworks sails are a very close copy of the Fed 5 sail. I laid my sail over a Sailworks sail and could not really tell the difference. As well as Skip Elliot sails. A laser scan revealed very slight modifications, none are noticeable to the naked eye.
I still modify the luff pocket and foot of the Fed 5 sail for experimental purposes and have made 6 different sizes, 5.0, 4.0, 3.5 and a 2.5 for really windy days and 4 different configurations, all of which are very good performers but limited in the numbers of units....I've made a total of sixteen sails based on the fed 5 sail.
Please, make whatever information you have available.

I found this in an old post in 2009 by "Landyacht".
I also have a complete set of FED 5 plans ,and instructions, but not permission to build,, perhaps you could contact the poms and get permission and I could send a copy on.
What is "the poms"?
I'm not looking to publish them. Surely by now there should be no issue for personal use. That was nearly 20 years ago!
Back in the days of colonialism and transportation of convicts the story goes that convict papers were stamped with the letters POME (prisoner of mother England ) so convicts and by extension anyone from England was known in this part of the world as a Pommie so the Poms mean the English
perhaps you can tell us the origin of Yank?
During the first exploits of tyranny in America "New English" or "Englanders" were referred to as Yankees.
To Brits and Aussies "Yank" referres to any American.
Just like to Americans Brit is anyone from GB. And Aussie refers to any Australian. And Kiwis are from NZ.
To someone that lives in the states, particularly in the south, a Yank or Yankee refers to anyone from the north. Yankees are presumed decedent's of the original English in North America and therefore were hated by the south.
I am not a Yank in the US but I am in other countries.
That's it huh nobody wants to get off any Fed 5 plans or drawings or pictures those things must be golden to you guys.
I guess it's it's like trying to get the Ten Commandments from the keepers of the scroll.
I promise not to post or distribute them! EVER!
Get a tape and measure a fed 5 and/or download some images.
draw some pictures of how you think it's made. If you can draw it you can't make it.
A fed five is flat 20degree y-frame with adjustable mast rake
20" rear wheels with cranked axles. 16" layover steering.
nothing to difficult about that. Simple looking yacht.
pictures come from google images search " fed 5 class 5 land yacht"

Only now because of our rhyming slang heritage we tend to call usa-nians septic tanks(rhymes with yank)
If I wasn't a million miles from the nearest Fed 5 I would have already measured one.
Mainly I'm wanting the angle of the mast support. Everything else is pretty cut and dry.
That septic tank joke was kind of crappy.

I'll go with the one sheet of the plans that someone sent me.

TP1 is being kind; The term is 'seppo" (short for septic tank) and used by more than a few on seabreeze to describe an american when they're full of s**t.
