is my area windy enough for a land yacht and how can you tell when the wind is strong enough eg:- blows clothes around ect.
Ps- new here first post
Welcome to the forum.
It is HIGHLY dependant on the sailing surface, A sealed car park will work well in quite a light breeze where as soft or boggy beach will need a lot of wind.
The beach sailing surface is often tested by walking on it... if you leave a 'FULL' shoe print its probably to soft to sail, if you just leave a HEEL and BALL print its medium and if you just leave a light pattern from the tread..... your in luck.
If you want to learn how to judge wind speeds either; purchase an anemometer or learn the Beaufort scale
"The Beaufort scale /'bo?f?rt/ is an empirical measure that relates wind speed to observed conditions at sea or on land. Its full name is the Beaufort wind force scale, although it is a measure of wind speed and not of force in the scientific senses."
See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beaufort_scale for more detail.
Then learn to convert your observations to which ever measure of wind speed turns you on.
probably need a bit more info from you , not just a picture of a crap comedian. perhaps things like where are you , what kind of yacht are you planning on having , have you sailed before
Just asking because we don't have much wind here at the Death Star. I could use it at the TIE fighter landing bay if I can get the emperor to buy me some big fans for my birthday...
