Just letting everyone know that there will be a "pub style dinner (tea)" on Saturday night of the kingston weekend, not sure which hotel it will be as there are 2 in town and by the looks of it we'll need to book a table of about 25. It will be a pay your own way deal for those that want to attend, as soon as i can organize times and location i will post the information both here and on the kingston windfest face book page as well as the south australian blokart club face book page, merry xmas to all

Serviced my Nissan Patrol today and it's almost loaded. (5.6 Mini and a kite buggy, I'm collecting another kite buggy in Adelaide). Lots of kites (31) both power and stunt to suit all wind conditions or lack of.
Just the masts and sails to secure to the roof-rack, and chuck in my clothes.

Just tiding up jobs round the house before I leave on Tuesday Jan 5th.

Going to check out the seafood in Ceduna through to Port Lincoln on my way over.

Catch you guys there.

On Saturday 23rd January while at the kingston wind fest weeknend i have organized a "meet and greet" dinner the venue will be the Crown Inn hotel 34 Agnes street ,the time for the dinner is set for 7.00pm i have reserved a number of seats for us in the main dinning room,, as I don't know what every one likes to eat i have made it a buy your own meals and drinks, that way everyone can sort themselves out so far as food is concerned. .i have also posted details on the kingston wind fest 2016 face book page and will also have details available at the sailing site...

Hopefully we will start seeing some lake reports popping up soon. Been watching the weather and not noticed any major rainfall lately. Fingers crossed the weather cooperates for the next two weeks, cool change would be nice :)

The clay is super smooth with only kangaroo tracks across it. Spent 5 hours buggying in 25knot winds yesterday. Today gusting to 30 knots. All the clay pan is available with no wet patches.

In case I forget later and for those leaving soon, I'll see you all Tuesday. Hopefully be getting there around lunch time. Safe travels and see you on the clay!

Edit: I'll put up a sign on the highway to mark the turnoff to the lake. Not sure what it will say, look like. Keep your eyes open

what an awesome weekend. Bill ben and igot more testing done in a week that ive been able to do inyears. ben and lachlan bothe brokr the golden rule of landsailing etiquette"thou shall not keep up with ,or indeeed overtake, the class 5 yachts". some great yachts and buggies.
ben sailed consistently in the "races' by winning all but 1
Although the class 5's were the fastest thing on the lake , the buggies were able to sail very fast over surfaces thet we didnt have a hope of sailing over. the lake vwas generally nice and dry but the slipperier bits were often in different spots from day to day,so the first sail of the day was to find the slipps.
had fantastic winds EVERY day . we are all getting home now so pics and reports to come

The 2016 land sailing and windfest is all but over for another year. Blokarts, class 5s, kite buggies and some yachts that just dont fit into a class, all mixing it up and having a great time at a great place for sailing showing that we can all get along and have fun sailing..

It was fantastic to meet everyone there. Had a ball and covered 1,189 kms while I was there in both the mini and kite buggy. Top speed in the 5.6 mini with a 6.7 m2 sail in a measured 22 knots of wind was 78.9 kmh and in the kite buggy with a 3.8m2 Vapor kite I got to 78.4kmh. Surface was a bit slippery in the afternoon as the surface wet up. A couple of videos of the event from John H.

See you guys next year.
