Well after a great holiday in France where we saw a huge land yacht club in Quiberon, my patience has been tested. My home build has all but stopped (frustration with finding a good sail and rigging), so I found this little yacht on ebay and the good part is the guy only lives 20 miles away from me and will throw in some tuition. Hopefully pick it up this week.
Nice! I saw that and bid on it myself earlier in the week..then decided I wanted to do a build. It will be great fun though and you got a bargain ;)
Shipjack
Picked it up today and really pleased with it, went to the beach they have designated for wind powered vehicles and it's huge (when the tide is out) can't wait to rig it up and take it for a spin.
Just come back from my first ever land sailing , and it (excuse the pun) blew me away! So pleased with it, the sensation of speed is amazing, and getting a wheel off the ground will never get tiresome. Roll on more windy days
Dave Greens Windbob is a great yacht, I used to have one and one of his Bootlegger Miniyachts before that.
You should see the difference between the Windbob and the latest Yorker Miniyacht, chalk and cheese as they say - yorkersport.com/3.html
The mini 5.6 looks amazing!wonder how much that is?well the windbob is certainly keeping me entertained lovely little machine and the sense of speed is fantastic, a truly excellent hobby.
