yes i have purchased some knicks. they have a large pad that feels like youve crapped em ,but at the 50km mark they feel great .
still wearing a kmart top though, real bike stuff is very xxxxy.
the only carbon on the bike is the soles of my very old and used rubbish bin shoes. its like wearing back to front high heels when you walk in them

I reckon if you attached a sail to that bike and perhaps a 3rd wheel for stability you wouldn't have to pedal quite so hard.

West people must be expending too much energy on bikes nowdays

probably caused by the rain, if they get a few drops...they change...cant focus...and they ride off into the distance

hello west .......are you still with us ????

Pink Lake is awesome.

Getting a good sail on Pink Lake, (3 or 4 times a week) but it's a pretty soft gypsum surface this year.
It is limiting us to top speeds of around 85 kmh. Most of the days we are averaging in the mid to high 50's kmh for the whole sessions sailing.
Longest day with the wheels turning. Time elapsed moving has been just over 7 hrs.
There is about 2, 1/2 square kilometres that we can play on.

Local beaches are VERY good, but high tide is around midday witch really limits there use. The more East from Esperance you go, the better they are. Thomas river Beach is 20kms of rock hard sand.
Lots of tourists about as well.

Wind have been cranking nearly every afternoon when the very strong S/Easterly hits.

I seem to be out chasing fires instead of sailing. 6 callouts this past week, with one a more serious fire.(fire bombers came across from Albany, for that one.)
Same with wind again this weekend, with a forecast for Sunday of 31 knots easing to 25 later in the day.

Gota run...... The sea breeze has just hit and is now averaging 18knots. I'll meet up with "Greg the guitar maker" at 2.00pm.

Bye..............

Just back from another "escaped" camp fire, in the bush on the edge of Pink Lake.
Its still a total fire ban here.
3 very attractive young French women and unfortunately they had their boyfriends with them.

They were all very embarrassed and are now having their tea, cooked on their butane stove.

Wet venues! Lack of readies(unemployed on newstart - unemployable waiting on Carpal Tunnel Release[surgery] left hand) newstart only $500.00 a fortnight. Saving money by riding bike everywhere. Made bike trailer for shopping and general cartage(loads of second hand Jarrah 3x2's) which slightly over loaded said trailer and is due for a rebuild tomorrow. Cornering with last of 5 high 2 mtr long, 40kg loads I broke 1 wheel support, and rolled it in middle of street(No one of any consequence saw)
Trying to pay off last years credit card bill taking long time, finally down to last $500

No yacht building at the moment(my shed is full)

This years project is making windows and installing them in our house (bloody time consuming but I am enjoying it)

Ive seen similar in Bindoon,

local kids on a couple of ponies, a clydesdale and 2 x pony traps tied up to a parked semitrailers bullbar, opposite our shop - and used the bullbar as a ladder to dismount / remount the clydesdale and ponies.

Poor truckie didnt know what to do when he came out of the servo next door.

Had to wait until the kids all came out of our shop with thier ice-creams and lollies, and watch them climb up his truck, leaving stick fingerprints everywhere.

Was very disappointed when the spots of rain got closer together at the lake yesterday and with it the wind dropped right off.

Only got 1mm of rain overnight and there is not a cloud to be seen this morning. Todays forecast wind, has been dropped back to only 28 knots.

It's cranking already so bye. (Esperance is about halfway down the page)

I could do with one of those wind forcast charts for Lake Gnangara, and Nearmap to lighten up and give access back to mugs like me......
