The last couple of months I have been working on a project involving my class3, It involved making some changes that took a lot of convincing for me to do. (can not show the end result yet) But can show the progress till I get the OK to post the final stuff
Take my nice class3 and strip it back (hated doing it)
Next part involved a graphic art painter coming down and painting the yacht so that it looked weathered, this pic is the yacht in a parking bay in Perth not something that people see every day
On the way to Perth through fire burnt out area
Seeing the sign on your shed brought back some memories.
Then again, I sort of got fed up fixing 980's that suffered cracking in the TC housings, in the end.
Cant recall the maintenance boss, but gave me a right royal toe up the coight for leaving a mess in one of his workshops after another 980 repair.
Went back to site for a chewing, he promptly marched me up to the said mess, in one of the workshops, finger pointing and going on about lots, generally throwing a wobbly.
The look on his face when I told him to "shadap", follow me to the next workshop, to show him the clean tidy work area I had vacated, was bloody priceless.
Big prick had the last laugh but. I no sooner got back to Kal, when he rang up, reporting "another" broken 980, and said, send that ginger haired prick out, he does good work
I rember the old 980, they did a great job in there day, i spent a few years at the big O as a airleg miner and later as the mine foreman. They were great days 7and1/2 hour shifts. 5 days week.
While the yacht was having new sail and jib made at Avlon Sails the final paint job was completed. To give a plank and rivet look
Final changes to aus230,
In kambalda it was decided that the mast boom and axle were not the right color so they were covered with a light color wood vinyl , still not happy and they were sprayed with flat clear to dull them down a bit. The wheels were changed to spoke rims. Crazy Trav came out to the Lake to help me get it set up for the first time.
Images not the best.
Another bunch of pics of the project. Still can not post the final pics and what it was about till I get approval
This was a fun and frustrating project that I got myself involved in, I can post the rest of the story after the first of April, The video and photo shoot was for a large watch company and involved people from Aus, NZ and Japan. We spent several days at Lake Lefroy getting it together and I think it turned out to be the perfect place.
Finally.
The project was for citizen watches, it involved a large crew to make the add on Lake Lefroy in Western Australia.
Just a few pics of the Hero(girl) as they call her. And the video that they put to air.
