Just inform her that it is just the aerodynamic fairing for a new yacht, I'm sure you could convince her?

At least the front wheels wouldn't cover you in crap while your sailing Vic.

Would love to see one sail.

You give me the diagram for the sail and I'll make that bit for you. (I have some big sailboat sails to use up.)

You have no excuse now. So get to it.

Have we got a deal

I can see the appeal, especially by someone with such a nice building record. You should be able to whip something up pretty quick!

Thomas River?

The others have more seaweed now.

My first choice was the western end of Alexander but there is too much sand around the rocks.

The Duke Of New Orleans Bay maybe , as this was taken a good while ago Vic, is loaded with seaweed all the time. I have never seen it reasonably clear yet.
The eastern end is fantastic on a low tide and the artic white sand squeals under your tyres even when travelling in a straight line. I've done 100's of kms along this beach.

I'm hanging out to get out to Thomas river again, but high tide is the middle of the day at the moment.
Also with the huge swells we are getting there isn't much beach to use.

How did this sail Vic it looks fantastic.
How did the back end track when it was flat knacker?

East of Cape lar grand, Lucky bay I think it is called. It was a great spot when this was taken (2004) and great fishing of the rock. Sand was like concrete and plenty of wind.
Except for my class3 it is still my favourite yacht,(useless in a tack tho) But easily do over a 100K when wound up on Lefroy. It handled like it was on rails. Still miss it.
I did not covered it up when I came to Bridgetown and water wreaked it. I would have loved to have raced it against other wind flyers

We are stuck on the "Growire from the vineyards for making the 12 gauge spokes.
We need plain not blue coloured, galvanized wire that's 2.680mm.
It's available here in Esperance ex Perth, $132 for 1000mtrs but only if I buy 10 rolls. (they wont split up a pallet)
Not sure I could use 10 kms around my 28 acres here.

Don't they grow grapes round you Vic???

Haven't lost interest, just to many other interests getting in the way.
Not to mention the list "She" has for me to do to the chook house.

I really like the idea of reliving a bit of history though.
What do you reckon Boulder Ben

Not much time left for this year with only 9 and a bit weeks till Lefroy.
I have too much on with my Ag college students, leading up to the Royal show in Perth.

But aiming for next year, I'm in.

Your trip looks like a ripper Vic.

This has the makings of being something awesome.......

Vic in a replica of either the Zephyr or a Bleriot

Paul in a replica Viking,

Chook in another Bleriot, with shed-built engine and period correct prop [made from a plank]

Support crews chasing them all on pennyfarthings.

filmed in sepia-tone for effect.

OK, I have to ask [while the Sandwichmaker is out of the room]

Does anyone have a set of plans for the an early Bleriot aeroplage, or a series of decent photos that show good detail of any tricky construction and control sections?

chook it will have to be next year for me to. could be fun .
Remember that little cap light you gave me , it now goes up and down Ijin sulfur volcano .It has been a well traveled, been to the top of several volcano in Java. The miners start in the dark but the sulfur gas burning lights it up a bit. I gave it to one of the miners that carrying 80kg plus out of the crater without a light. They get 7cents for carrying the load 800m up the crater and 3k down the side of Ijin not bad work if you can get it(just joking had to admire them)
