we are just getting all our yachts and sails up to readiness for next weeks nationals and decided to slice up a ratted old J24 headsail for the cloth. from a 8m sail we managed to get enough panels to make this nice litle reefable 3.6m sail for my daughters mini. the cloth is really nice to work with. I was worried about the kevlar fibres getting tangled into the machine , but all was well.
slightly stiff battens for sail of this size , but its going onto a 4.1m windsurfer mast. we hope to trial it tommorrow at a spot called lake perkollili. we havent sailed there for a few years due to vegetation growing on the hard clay lake, but its got really dry, and the dam at the entrance to the lake is bursting with yabies and big coonacs, and a great cool swimming hole to boot.
i cant believe we are making them in kevlar now!!!
