Today on the Huon my mate had a bit of a moment in his Elliott 7.8 when a gust of wind caught them out just after the start
End result was the spreaders in the water but they recovered quickly and eventually went on to win the race
These photos was taken by a crew member from another boat when it was on it's way over
Regards Don
good snaps !!! a bit battered and bruised i bet !!!
I think the win at the end helped cushion the blows

Hi Shoodbegood
We do get a lot of strong gusts down here and the Elliott carries a lot of sail for its size and weight which i believe is around 800 kg
She has a deep keel when it is dropped all the way down but relies a lot on crew weight to keep it sailing flat

nice shed !!!
Hi SandS
The shed is a beauty, belongs to a local boat builder and is big enough to build 40 footers inside
