I'm planning on sailing from Adelaide to Coffin Bay in a couple of weeks.

I'm thinking of a night sail to Memory Cove (which looks beautiful), followed by a stop at Avoid Bay, before sailing around the Coffin Bay Peninsula into Coffin Bay. I understand that Coffin Bay can be very shallow in places and I plan to ride the tides in and out.

On the return trip I'm thinking of sailing past the Neptune Islands - Great White Shark territory

Any tips would be appreciated.

PS I've sailed to to Port Lincoln previously and plan to save time and bypass it this time

Memory cove is beautiful as long as it's not strong E or NNE, you could shoot across the thorny passage about 5nm to Hopkins island and take a safe swim with the Australian Sealions?

Aviod Thorny passage and Cape catastrophe when strong winds against tide.

You can anchor in the Main bay of North Neptune's in South west winds or light winds in 5 to 10 meters for lunch but any other winds you will have to anchor in 25 meters and is not advisable for yachts. North Neptune's is a marine park now so no fishing and I would not advise any Watersport activitys.

South Neptune's is pritty much the same however you can sneak into the sand in SSE out the front of the old weather station homestead.

A supermarket is currently getting built in Coffins not sure it will be finished when you arrive.

I just got back from 7 fabulous days of sailing to & from Coffin Bay. While not enough time to truly explore the region, it was a great intro. I definitely plan to return one day.

Looks suspiciously like Boston Bay. That little Blue fin out of a pen?

Ha ha. I have witnesses to prove it was caught off Liguanea Island.

Second installment of my Coffin Bay sailing trip. We experienced some stunning anchorages. The photo below is of Gallipoli Beach.

Thanks for that. Have not been to Coffin Bay since the early 60's, has not changed much.
