Ah yes but now you have it and it looks sweet.

If you want a B.O.A.T. then you'll need sub26ft on a trailer, and even then.........

In the end it's all Bucks. $1000 = 1 'Boat Buck'. Your windlass cost 3 boat bucks. Some times you are actually lucky enough to do a job on a boat and it cost less than 1 boat buck. So next time the wife says "What did that cost love", you can say "Just a couple of bucks dear"

I'm using metric Vietnamese Dongs on my B.O.A.T even I dont know what Ive spent

And Instead of a condo rates and management fees South Ace which you have to pay annually the $3 b.o.a.t would not even covers those rates. So you are well a head
Now can I repair your old Windlass??

South Australian anchor. What are you going to use in NSW waters?

The Marsh worked fine all the way up the coast till I lost it in Moolooba duck pond when the swivel snapped!
The spare CQR dragged in 35knots and the Manson supreme I found while diving was bullet proof , so I will use the Marsh again this trip up the coast and with the heavy swivels I doubt I will loose this one!

Obviously the correct answer was that when in NSW you would use a NSW anchor if you are using a SA anchor in SA.

I don't believe there is a correct answer, I believe use a anchor that you trust.

So what anchor is recommended for NSW ? Since the Marsh is not Avalible in that state I would use a Manson supreme but will most properly just bring my Marsh with me.....I hope that's legal!

I don't believe that are any regulations regarding the type of anchor you use, excepting maybe some environmentally sensitive areas.

My comment about using a NSW anchor was more directed at Ramona's comment as it almost (but not quite) inferred that an anchor made in SA would not work in NSW

It would not work in the river here. Clear sand and strong tide, not enough blade area. One of the spade type modern anchors is the go. The Marsh is meant for ribbon weed.

If your not short of a quid go for an Ultra {or make one}.

50 mtrs of 10mm chain and a 32 kg march out? What clear sand in Sydney? most rivers are protected form waves & sea just the occasional bullets would be a worry ! But you are right a spade technicaly would out weigh the Marsh!

P.s I have 7 years experence using the Marsh in weed, rocks , mud and sand ..... Even seen GWShark try to eat one!

What?? Did you bait it with half a roo or something??

From my single experience of a Manson Supreme and the anchor test videos around, I think they are the best most commonly available and economic anchor to buy, or find when diving.

No bait the shark 5mtr followed it up on retrieval from 30mtrs just as it got to the surface the shark took the whole anchor in its mouth! It peeled some chain off the gypsy and got me fairly wet!

The only problem I encounted with the Supreme is that the stock is flat bar as opposed to the March which is rod so it only comes over the roller upright .......the March can be brought up from the cockpit remote and no need to go forward.
