at the moment both depth sounder and speedometer don't work
I need to replace them I want something I can load charts on, remove when not in use and something that will tell me to pull the keel up when I'm about to hit the bottom. What's not going to brake the bank!!! What have you found works well. I'm not interested in looking at fish just knowing we're my keel is.
Hi ...
I have a careel 18
I use my phone for navigation via navionics app
also can read depth with this wireless sounder https://shop.vexilar.com/en/sonar-phone-/sonarphone-whs-transducer-phone-not-included--sp200
the sounder is compatible with navionics and shows a depth reading on your map screen
the transducer can shoot through a fibreglass hull too
works for me
cheers

I just used a little Lowrance GPS/fishfinder for $250-$449. I don't fish but I do like seeing what's on the bottom, so I don't anchor over seagrass. You can also take the unit off the yacht and put it in a dinghy for exploration or leading the big boat into anchorages. The transducer is transom mounted, which may be a hassle.
I use a little Hummingbird depth sounder/chart plotter that I got for 30$ on Gumtree... I have mounted the transducer in the bilge in mineral oil bath and it seams to work well, still have to test the system in open water.
Nice
I bought a wi-fish and found a place in the boat where the boat has been extended where the glass is sold I'm planning on cutting a Tupperware container up and glueing it to the hull filling it with water to test it?
